Trump's Russian Connection: More Hype Than Reality

Updated on December 24, 2017

Trump is the US President but one allegation continues to dog him. Most of the intellectuals and the Press were pretty sure he won't be elected, but after he became president the Russian connection is applied to him with a double force. Congress has authorized an investigation and a few of the close advisors of Trump are indicted.

Donald's win has upset many people. What is the reason? They say they have ideological differences with him but the plain fact is that they have been ousted from the inner ring of power and want to stage a comeback. All sorts of wild allegations are floating around that Donald has some connection with Russia and Putin. A Russophobia is being built up that the Russians hacked the election to favor Trump and he knew all about it. Weird tales are floated about his association with Russian girls in Moscow and one unverified source has dished out an "intelligence report" that he took part in what is known as the "golden Showers' incident. There is no smoke without fire, but even if we believe such incidents, they are not the stuff that shows that he will betray US interests.

Dr. Gobbels, Hitlers Propaganda Minister made a telling statement " a lie repeated 100 times becomes the truth". His opponents can't find any verifiable evidence of Trump's love for Russia but they hope that Gobble's adage becomes a truth against Trump.

The fly in the ointment as far as Trump is concerned are the Intelligence agencies. They have dished out that the Russian connection is true. It does look preposterous but I think by making such revelations the Intelligence agencies are hopeful that they will be accepted as more credible. It's possible the agencies have an ax to grind, with the desire to show that they have some relevance.

Donald skating on thin ice

Donald is skating on thin ice. I say this as some of his close advisors are indicted and one of them has agreed to turn approver. His son and son in law have also been questioned. Hs opponents have a devious plan to somehow try and pin a Russian connection on him and then make an attempt to impeach him.

To a man outside America, all this looks weird. It's a wonder how the US top politicians are more concerned about Russia than about China and North Korea. The fear of Russia is dominating the opposition. When did Russia become so powerful to influence the US election? It is an insult to the American voter. But the fact is, this is a good stick to beat the US President and hope that opinion builds up against him.

Last Word

The Russian connection has now spread to Europe and French President also mentioned about it. He was of the view that Russia may have interfered in the French poll as well. The EU powers are dreading the rise of Donald as in case he prevails they will become redundant. So far they are riding on the back of the Americans.

A lot of phobia about Russia is emanating from anti-Russia countries like Ukraine and Poland They are the ones creating a Russian phobia. Donald has to be alert. He is the man who has brought in, out of box solutions to many problems. He may succeed or fail, but he deserves a chance. The agitations against him are orchestrated. Why? Well, that's what politics is all about.

Liking Russian girls? Hell, many American men do like them. Putin said Russian girls are the best in the world. There are not many who will like a Judo match with him on this point. Cant blame Trump really. But to insinuate, he is a puppet of Russia looks a joke.
