Unless...

Even if the supreme court overturns Roe v. Wade and every abortion clinic is closed...Unless there is a change in people's hearts and minds there will still be abortions.

Even if every state in the union amends is constitution and to prohibit "Gay Marriage"...Unless there is a change in people's hearts and minds, there will still be homosexual activity.

Even if every public school opens its day with prayers in Jesus name...Unless there is a change in people's hearts and minds, Jesus will not be honored.

Even if every public building were to display the Ten Commandments... Unless there is a change in people's hearts and minds, people will still break them.

Even if the name of God is included by constitutional amendment in the Pledge of Allegiance... Unless there is change in people's hearts and minds, people will not be loyal to God.

Even if the ACLU stops using it's legal clout to remove the name of Jesus from the public eye... Unless there is a change in people's hearts and minds, the name of Jesus will not be honored.

Even if every form of indecency and pornography is banned from every form of media... Unless there is a change in hearts and minds, people will still act in sexually immoral ways.

Sometimes, I feel like Christians act like what I have heard called "Practical Atheists" they say they believe in God but then act as if God doesn't exist.

It is not our job to convince the world to become Christians. That is the role of the Holy Spirit. The bible doesn't say, "try to witness". It says, "you will be my witnesses". That means that everything you say, everything you do is a witness.

Now, this is where I often hear Christians freaking out and saying "I'm not perfect, I'm not there yet. etc." Relax! Jesus called Peter "satan" once. And Peter did pretty well as a Christian. It's a process of growth. Be secure in God's love and approval for you.  The rest will flow natually.  

Rather than trying to "act like" a Christian. Just "be" who God has made you to be. God will work with you. It's not about rules it's about relationship.

Try this. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. And try loving your neighbor as yourself. Those two things are not as easy as they sound. But seek those things. Then "Let your light so shine that they see your light and glorify your Father in Heaven." You won't get it right all the time. In fact, you may get it wrong more often than not at first. But don't stop loving.

Does that mean not to speak of Jesus? Of course not! Speak of Him as you would a loving friend.

Then, when people see that you are "different" instead of being irritated with you for trying to "convert them", maybe they will ask you questions.

Please don't hear me say not to preach. But when did Jesus preach? After he cast out the demons, healed the sick, raised the dead and fed the hungry. After that, they wanted to hear what He had to say. And what did he say? "Good news!"

By all means, support the candidates that you agree with. But, our weapons are not the weapons of this world. Not by might.  Not by power. We have the Holy Spirit who can change hearts and minds. Don't act like He's not with us. Follow Him, love God, love others, teach those in your circle of influence to do the same and watch the world change.
