Which Border?
There is a “national emergency,” a border we need to protect for our national security.
It is not our southern border with Mexico. It is our extreme northern border with Russia and China (even North Korea.)
It is the early warning outposts in northern and northwestern Alaska which are in disrepair and in need of the military budgeting for their upgrading, maintenance, and repair.
Those installations provide our military and our nation with the warnings and targeting we could need, if those who might seek to do us harm should ever be so foolish as to try.
We are not in mortal danger from persons crossing our southern border, as much as we could be devastated by missiles and sophisticated modern bombers designed to cripple our defenses and bring us to our knees at the hand of foreign powers who constantly test and evaluate our defenses.
Those are the “fences” that now call for our immediate attention, and the funds and plans for doing so have already been provided for.
Let’s not be distracted by slogans and shouts that can drown out wiser voices.
