When Americans Do Not Care About America

Updated on October 9, 2010

Who is Running in This Election

When we have people running for a seat in the senate, and those same persons have done things that were not in the best interest of our country's economy, what does that tell us?

Have you ever tried to either get technical support, or tried to talk to someone about payment of a bill, and that person does not even speak enough English to be able to understand them? It gets pretty frustrating does it not?

I have gotten calls through to technical support when calling AOL, Netzero, ATT, Edison Electric Co. as well as calls to the XBox 360 people when trying to trace our broken system, to Playstation technical support when the game malfunctioned, and to EBay, as well as Craigs List when checking on monies that did not show up on my bill.

On 90% of these calls when I asked with whom I was speaking and where they were located the response was either India Thailand.

Upon further investigation, it turns out that all of these companies re-route these calls to other countries for it is substantially less expensive to pay for the long distance call, and not have to pay nearly as much as they would have had to pay an American for their time taking the calls and guiding you through the troubleshooting the problem.

When we take the time to count the number of companies doing this, and then consider the number of people they have employed to fill the positions, we are not adding up just a few hundred, but we are talking about 24 hour shifts and many many companies, so it adds up easily into the thousands if not hundreds of thousands of jobs that have been take away from the families here that are losing their homes for the lack of money because they cannot find a job.

Now this being an election year, I am sure that I am not the only one watching the mud slinging that is going on. There is a certain woman running for I believe a senate seat to represent California. She was the person who started E Bay and she is a wonderful business person who has made billions of dollars for herself. I have no problem with that, but how can we condone her thinking it is alright to send these jobs out of our country and by so doing is literally taking food out of the mouths of children here in our country.

How can we trust a person to represent our wants and needs before the federal government when she is not even caring about our countries needs when it is a matter of either putting the money in her pocket or doing the right thing by giving those jobs to our people here. Is it asking too much of her, and should we expect her to make that sacrifice so that people here can work? Does running for public office require you to make those sacrifices?

I say yes it does. How can we trust a person who has no loyalty to this country, to do the right thing, especially when self promotion and profit are so easily gained?  It is just too easy to be unethical and selfish.  But, let us not be naive here, and when we hear her telling us about what a good business woman she is, and what a good job she can do for  California, just know and remember that she is really really good at being a business woman, and that there is no way she is going to change her ways about how she is running her business.

Know that she will be doing what she knows how to do, and that we as the voting citizens of this country need to do what we know is right, and that means to get out there and become active and make sure that you get out to those polls and vote, for if we allow this person to become involved in the government, it would just be allowing the wrong thing to happen.and would do nothing but make our economic situation here worse.  We must do our part to help America get and keep the employment opportunities here where they not only are needed, but where they belong.  If we cannot be loyal to our country, who will be?

Be aware, and think these things through when you hear of these things happening.  This is the time when we need to be active and become involved with our government, making it once more by the people, from the people and for the people.

We must stop these practices and any other things like them that we see are being done to us, for otherwise our country will be sliding downhill fast.  Be active, voice your opinion, and tell those around you too.

Great Hub and it needed to be said. The woman from eBay is Meg Whitman and she is running for Governor while Carly Fiorina from Hewlett Packard is running for the Senate. She was fired for mismanging the firm and yes she outsourced jobs. These policies should be highlighted more by their opposition. In the meantime these 2 candidates are spending enormous amounts of their own funds to drown out their opponents and not allow these issues to come to the surface. Luckily California voters are smarter and they both are trailing. Keep exposing these fat cat phonies.
