(CNN) -- Wisconsin will hold its first recall election of state senators Tuesday with Democratic primaries in six districts Republicans currently hold. .
The Latest Trick
The Wisconsin GOP, perhaps under orders from the Koch Brothers, other corporate allies, and their front groups, like the 'Tea Party', have resorted to what many would see as 'dirty tricks' in their efforts to bust that states public employee unions.
They managed to pass the union-busting bill in basically a closed session, using a parliamentary trick. When a district court judge blocked the bills passage, and a judicial ally of the Koch-Brother's backed Governor was trailing in his election bid, thousands of votes were suddenly found to put him over the top. But the latest was the lowest yet.
Wisconsin has a recall process, and when the public workers saw how the American working class and it's allies stood in solidarity with them, they may have seen a chance to strike back by recalling those State Senators and Representatives who voted to strip them of their rights to bargain. The Koch's and their allies needed a way to try and derail this process, and took advantage of Wisconsin having an 'Open Primary'.
At the basic level, their efforts failed. The tireless efforts of the Democratic party, Labor and other allied groups, and even myself (by way of virtual phone banking), defeated these so-called 'Fake Democrats'. But could there have been another goal in mind.
These primary campaigns cost money. The 'True Democrats' that won now find themselves having to fund raise all over again. The groups that contributed resources need to go through the process again. The incumbent Republicans have a head start, and likely a steady stream of corporate case to tap into.
The only thing the 'True Democrat' challengers may have on their side is outrage. Their voters are likely by now fed up with all of this, and will be ready to contribute their time, resources and hopefully their votes to send a message to Governor Walker and people like the Koch Brothers that act as his master.
