World News, and My Views, Chapter 3

Welcome to our article (81), World views, and my views, Chapter 3.

Today what I see happening in the world is crazy, it is crazy because if common sense prevail, this could not happen, but it is happening because these two leaders don’t use diplomatic skills, they go ahead and do what they think in their mind is right, which can create a dangerous situation for the entire world.

What I see today, the 23^rd of October 2017 is destressing to say the least. This looks like madness and confrontation of these two worlds leader. North Korea has called Donald Trump a “hooligan and a lunatic” because he has put his nuclear bombers on full alert. This has not happened since the end of the Cold War. The Sun .

It is a crazy state of things. This is how North Korea describes the situation. But they don’t mention that it is their belligerent behaviour that makes President Trump do these things. Anyhow, these things change as time goes by, so let us follow, what is happening next.

Today is the 27^th of October 2017, on the news about the American and the North Korean scene, there is this article: Revolt “near” in North Korea, this tells us that the North Koreans are not happy about the present regime, so, it is forecast that something could happen in the next ten years. Then there is another article that says that in North Korea there are several prisons, or re-educating camps for political people, and everybody must respect the present government. They must have in their houses the photos of Kim Jong Un and its dynasty and treat them with respect. In fact, you cannot even fold one of these photos, because you will make a crease on it, and this will result in punishment. It sounds crazy, but it is there, and people must respect it.

Now let us talk about what is happening in America. The American people are worried about President Trump, because of his attitude that he would unleash fire and fury and destroy North Korea. So, congress is trying to pass a law that will slow Donald Trump starting a war with North Korea if things get out of hand. The legislation aims are these issues: to be on the safe side they want that President Trump should ask and obtain endorsement from congress, before he can declare war to North Korea.

Anyhow, I believe that the world is exposed to this war risk, because these two world leaders are impatient and above all because they want their own ways. We can look at who is to blame, and I am sure that Kim Jong Un is the one that is to blame more, but that is my opinion. My personal views are that they both need to play it down, and we hope they do. We just must wait and see.

Before I stop talking about America and President Trump, I must add this new tragic event; in New York, a terrorist has killed 8 people and injured 11 others, by driving a van purposely to kill as many people as he could, which has shocked the world all over again. President Trump reckons that when these things happen, it can be right to condemn the guilty person to death. But I believe that in New York there is no death penalty, which in a way is not right since the man that has willingly killed many people, cannot be legally killed, and if he gets the chance he will kill again, I hope you see what I mean?

Now let us look at what is happening in other parts of the world.

These days in Australia something unusual has happened. The present Government has lost his majority in the house of representative, because of these rules in the Constitution. The constitution says that people cannot serve in the Australian parliament if they hold double citizenship. This event is even ridiculous, because Barnaby Joyce has been in parliament since 2004, that is about 13 years, and then suddenly this has happened. To prove that what I have written is true, here under I am quoting from the Wikipedia;

Joyce was born in Tamworth, New South Wales, and attended the University of New England. He eventually settled in St George, Queensland, where he had his own accountancy firm. Joyce was elected as a Senator for Queensland at the 2004 federal election. At the 2013 election, Joyce transferred to the House of Representatives, winning the Division of New England in New South Wales. He is one of only a handful of people to have represented multiple states in parliament, and the only person to have represented one state in the Senate and a different state in the House of Representatives.

I hope you see what I mean. To any outside observer this event looks very strange to say the least, because those people that have been affected, have been sitting in parliament for years, so, they have had a real surprise themselves, when they found that they were not eligible to be there. There were seven people involved at the start, but two were cleared from the courts, so, now there are only five that must be replaced. Of these five, I believe that some of them can be replaced from the party they belong, but one must have a new election. In the new election, the same man that has been disqualified, after fixing his paperwork and becoming an Australian citizen, with no double citizenship, is going to try to be re-elected. I can only say that politics is a very strange thing, and anything can happen.

This is how more or less as it was reported. The High Court on Friday ruled that Barnaby Joyce was ineligible for election because he held New Zealand citizenship. He quickly renounced that and now he is going to try to regain that seat.

But this is not all, because there are more Australian politics surprises. You see, while I am writing this article, today the 29^th of October 2017, the Queensland premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk has gone to visit the Queensland governor, because she wants to call an election the 25^th of November, that is only four weeks away from now, I wonder why she wants to do that. She might think that it is going to work out in her favour, but I recon politics is full of surprises. So, good luck Annastacia Palaszczuk, you are going to need it.

Now that we have said a few things about America and Australia politics, let us look at what is happening in Europe. In Europe or perhaps we should say in Spain today they have got a problem, because the people of Catalonia want to separate from Spain and declare independence. So, they have tried to do just that. But the Spanish central government in Madrid will not allow it. For some reasons, in this dispute it looks like that Madrid is right, so, Catalonia because of their constitutional laws cannot declare independence by itself, it needs the consent from Madrid.

Anyhow, they did declare independence and now they are in trouble, because the leaders of the independence movement have been outlawed by the Spanish government and they risk being arrested and prosecuted. So, they had to run away from Spain. I suppose it is an unusual happening, so, it is going to take a long time to see what is going to happen here, and who is right and who is wrong?

What I can see here is that, I had the impression that democracies are free to do the will of the people, but for this time, it doesn’t seem to be the case. So, it can be very interesting to see the outcome, but we must wait and see, how the Spaniard are going to solve this problem.

Another political scene in Europe that is interesting to follow is the Italian politics, since most times they are colourful, they have always been so, because of the nature of the people and the many parties allowed in Italy. To follow Italian politics is hard, because of the many parties that exist, then they might split within themselves, to make some sense who they are, they are talking about centre right, centre left and all other position that the party occupies so to speak, but that is not all, parties and fractions of parties may change position, they do that by leaving one party and become allied with another party, I believe that not many people understand Italian politics. Now when they pass a law, they usually take ages, for months they have been trying to pass a law how to vote in the next elections.

Anyhow, after a very long time many discussions and many meetings, of both the house of representative and senate now they have this new agreement that they can use for the next elections, not everybody is happy about it, but it can be a start in the right direction, so, we hope that they can at least have a working parliament after next election, which is about six months away.

Now, apart the political problem, Italy has also many other problems that the present government find hard to fix, they want to fix them, but usually the take too long. So, let us mention a couple of them; the most important of which are the refugees, now in Italy there are at least two types of refugees, one of which is the Italian refugees from last year earthquake, they need their houses rebuilt, to go back to live a normal life. Today most of them are still living in temporary accommodation, and their own houses are still the way they were, when they collapsed. There seems to be a problem with the right authorities, but they are doing something anyhow.

The second problem with refugees is that there are a lot of refugees coming in from Africa, this seems to be a never-ending problem, which I believe the entire world must fix, because this problem will bring up other problems, if something is not done soon and properly.
