How does a person become a Lobbyist & could the 99%'s demonstrators become lobbyists?
It appears that the politicians cater more to the lobbyist's instead of the people they're suppose to be representing, so, why can't we add a few hundred thousand lobbyist's (demonstrators) of our own to represent us 99%'s?
Lobbyists are usually former politicians or bureaucrats that have valuable information or opportunity to offer those they are lobbying.
There is no free lunch, everything is a barter, so lobbyists have something to offer these politicians in exchange for the favors they are asking for.
The 99%'s really have nothing to offer the politicians so they will have no voice other than politicians who might want to use them and their protests to further their own agenda's.
It is like a guy with a problem, let's say a really sore throat. If 3 people came to talk to him, the guy with the cure for his sore throat would be the one he would most likely listen to.
The 99%'s need to understand that and create value in themselves that they can then trade for the things they want.
No one ever got a job from a poor man.

To start, the "99%" demographic is imaginary. There is no such group. Most Americans do not see the world as a contest between the masses and a tiny oligarchy.
If whatever special interest it is with which you are identifying wishes to get into the lobbying business, however, then it has to hire lobbyists just like every other pressure group does. Influencing government today takes money, access, money, information, money, a law drafting department, money, wining and dining, money, reelection assistance, money ... well, you get the picture. The way to begin is to organize as a nonprofit corporation and raise a big pool of funding. Doing that, of course, would transform you into what you see as the enemy. The alternative is hit the streets, just as the Occupiers are now doing, which is to say to transform yourself into a camera-ready tool of associated politicians who are running for reelection and getting their money, and guidance, from others.
Good luck. You'll need it.
Not a great idea, but good thinking outside the box. I don't have any ideas at all other than to keep protesting in the streets until the movement grows more. Keep up the thinking.
Thanks Christian, I know almost nothing about lobbying so you are giving me good information. I understand that the demonstrators would need to reinvent themselves & get organized. I do believe they do have at least 2 valuable assets. They have the ability to vote, & I may be wrong, but I would say a good portion of them have no employment, so they have time. No money, but they do have time.
Have you ever heard the term 'the squeaky wheel gets the grease'? Well we've been hearing a lot of squeaking from both sides lately. I may be wrong about some things, but I'm still learning.
As for your remark "No one ever got a job from a poor man." I do take issue with that statement. Volunteers get jobs from poor people every day.
Thank you for taking the time to read & comment on my ramblings.
