Is our obsession with violence fueling mass murders in America?

TV shows,  movies  and video games have increasingly become more violent and void of any moral structure; do you think this effects or even causes violent behavior?

If you're talking about the shootings, I don't think they are related as much as others would try and convince us of.

A large factor in what has been happening is the mental health of many individuals who should be getting constant help being ignored.

Another is the media saying the shooters name(s) over and over again, making them infamous. Everyone knows the shooters names, and that's a big thing to someone who is a nobody.

A lot of the times, the person that commits a mass murder is someone who is contemplating suicide, but instead decides he wants to "go out with a bang" and get his name / face in the news and be remembered forever. The News of our country really needs to put more emphasis on the victims and not the shooter. If no one remember the shooters, I can almost guarantee it wouldn't happen like it does.

    Just my thoughts.

I agree on both points....a lot of people with mental health problems have "fallen between the cracks" so to speak. It is also true that the media puts way to much attention on those who commit the crimes.

It's sad, really, that the people who need help the most are denied such help until they do something heinous.
