Let me start by saying this. I am a registered republican.
It is time for America to have leadership and representation. I don't particularly care if that person happens to be black, white, female, or martian, so long as they can lead the country to the great heights we have been accustomed to in the past.
It's not about a woman. It's not about color. It's not about a time for history to be made.
It IS time to set aside ideology, and partisanship, and look for leadership—I know I said that already. There's a reason. It bears repeating.
Commissioner, I only say we already have given thought that it was time for a black president. It was a wrong reason to elect someone then. It will be a wrong reason to elect a woman tomorrow—unless they are absolutely right for the job.
