Back ground

More than 2000 years ago, there is a record of a Hebrew Kingdom in Palestine, and one of the most famous kings remembered is Solomon. There are many stories about him, and one can conclude that he was a man of great wisdom. The forces of history took over, and the Jewish Kingdom vaporized and was not heard of for the next 2000 years. The Jews spread all over the world, but they were discriminated against by the Christians. I have not understood the reason behind this hatred for the Jews, but it was very apparent in Germany, Russia, and other places. It is only in India and the United States that Jews can live in peace

After the massacres of World War 2, the great powers decided that the time had come to carve out a state for the Jews in their homeland. In 1948. The United Nations, by an overwhelming majority, created the state of Israel in the Arab lands. The Arabs resented the creation of the Israeli state as they felt they had been owning this place for hundreds of years. They were not a military force and thus had no say, and in addition, the entire world was in favor of the creation of the Jewish state.

The Arabs had no choice. They thought they had a military solution, and they would soon drive the Jews out. The first war started in 1948 when all the Arab states attacked the fledgling state of Israel. History records they were badly defeated, and this saga of defeats continued for the next 6 decades.

The Arab nations were not all against Israel, but some extremist nations like Syria, Iraq, and Iran decided that the time had come to galvanise the Muslims of Palestine to try and defeat Israel by terrorist activities. Terror was legally sanctified by these nations, and the battle of terrorism began. The world recognizes and the West declared many of the organizations that had been formed, like Hamas and Hezbollah, as terrorist groups, but there were many, and that includes India, which, because of political compulsions and pressure from the local Muslims who constitute 10% of the Indian population, did not follow the West. In addition, enemies of the West, like China and Russia, earlier the former USSR backed the terrorist organisations.

Hamas, aided by Iran, played a devious part and launched a massive rocket attack on Israel. 11,000 rockets are fired, and the protective Iron Dome of Israel collapsed. Hamas terrorists also captured many Israelis, and chilling videos of these are available with the Hamas fighters shouting kill the men and capture the woman.

When Israel launched an attack in retaliation and hundreds of terrorists were killed, the world suddenly woke up to the fact that Muslims would be killed by Israel in Gaza. Many countries, like Iran, began to use words like genocide or similar words

to justify bias against Israel.

Is it Genocide?

The Israelis retaliated in the only language that Hamas and other terrorist groups understand. They mounted an offensive, and the IDF moved into Gaza. Tanks and artillery were used as it was a military operation.

There are reports that hundreds of Hamas fighters are being killed. The top leadership was eliminated by precision attacks. Along with Hamas fighters, many civilians were also killed as it was inevitable and can be termed as collateral damage. The killing of civilians was part of Hamas' plan to arouse the world against Israel as they operated from underground bunkers in Hospitals and schools.

Hamas had this plan all the time, and they operated from safe sanctuaries, negating the very concept of a fair and just warrior. Many nations have now been using words like genocide, war crimes, etc., for the Israeli activities in Gaza. It is a matter of regret there's such words have never been used against those nations which are chanting to wipe out Israel from the world map

Recently, I received a question asking What legal terms, other than 'genocide," could apply to the situations being called genocide in Gaza, such as 'war crimes' or 'crimes against humanity"?

I was surprised at this tricky question, and framed in a manner that can be termed questionable. However, I would like to make it clear that the terms used, like genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, are not applicable as far as Gaza is concerned or to terrorist organisations like Hamas and Hezbollah. These organisations have been thriving on the support of some Islamic nations like Iran, Syria, and Yemen. Of course, one can see that moderate Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not support these terrorist groups. If the above terms have to be applied, they need to be applied to Iran, which is looking at having the atom bomb with the aim of wiping Israel from the global map.

People forget that the Jewish race was fodder for deadly Nazi experiments, and six million of them were killed during World War 2. Killing off a few people in Gaza who are terrorists is insignificant because of the enormity of the crime committed against the Jews in World War 2 II. Yes, many people are saying that the Holocaust never took place.

Hammurabi, the great lawgiver, had given an axiom of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. People seem to forget that Hamas is still holding hostages, and despite all the pressure from Donald Trump, they are not returning them. They are also into terroristic activities, and during the last attack on Israel, when the 11,000 rockets were launched, chilling videos are available. I will refrain from using words like genocide, etc. in Gaza, people must see the writing on the wall and not look for straws in the haystack.
