Easy Volunteer Service Projects

Updated on August 17, 2013

Some thoughts on super simple service projects to get your club buzzing

Sometimes it's hard to come up with quality ideas for service projects within your community. For various reasons a large project may be out of the question, or just not quite what the group is looking for at present.

Small, easy projects ensure that your service club or volunteer group doesn't get stuck in a rut. They can keep you actively performing an interesting variety of projects, not just the same thing time and time again.

Low on ideas? Here are a few easy service and citizenship project ideas that may work for your club.

Why choose an "Easy" Service Project?

There are loads of reasons why you would be looking for an "Easy" Service Project. Here are just a few:

  • When you need a quick and simple project just to kick things off.
  • When you need a project to train up new members with.
  • When you need to increase your standing in the community through a quick promotional activity.
  • When you are low on funds.
  • When you are low on members.
  • When you are low on time.
  • When your membership is burnt out and needs re-energising.

What Constitutes "Easy"?

Or, how do you know what to look for?

An "easy" service project should meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Short preparation time
  • No special skills required
  • Low cost or no cost
  • Low time commitment
  • Low manpower commitment
If your service project idea meets all five of the above criteria, then congratulations - you've got yourself a super easy project!

I have chosen to support this charity because I believe that literacy is one of the most important skills we can arm a child with. A good foundation in reading and writing opens up so many doors to further learning and education and equips the child to be a lifelong learner.

I am really good at organize community events to feed the unfortunate people Holidays Free Meals and very success at it in the last 5 years "Easter, Veterans, Thanksgiving and Christmas" which served more than 350 meals each events. It really does not cost me so much but the outcome is awesome and I can not describe the feeling for doing this.

Most things I need are donated and so many volunteers. I did not lose but gain so much in spirit, in my heart, just can not explain the feeling.

With your help, we can have such events in your community where you live. I saw you how, all you need is your kind heart to start with and God will provide just liked he did for us. Thank you. Together we can put a smile on someone face for a few seconds but that is priceless. check out my lens for details. God Bless you all. Love one another. Maybe someday you may needed an helping hand. I hope not.

Excellent lens with easy "get you started" ideas. We sometimes forget how, what may appear as a small idea, could be very meaningful to the recipient, i.e. having your lawn mowed when you can't. Thank you and consider yourself blessed by a Squid Angel!
