This sentence got over 1600 +1 in 24 hours. Unbelievable! BUT, in personal opinion,
It misleads teenagers, adolescents, adults, and nations. All crimes, ethic troubles, divorces, fights, wars due to content in own ways.
We are not gods, far from being perfect. We need to listen, to friends, to parents, to teachers, to others who deserve, as well as to sages and God.
It is completely foolish to take any opinions from anybody, but we've got to (or had better to ) listen to doctors to take medicines. Confucius says:"Having heard the way in the morning, one may die content in the evening."
And apparently, we are not self-selfish enough yet to live only for ourselves!!!
I don;t see you point. Taking advice is different from letting someone just tell you what to do regardless of your own wishes. And any reasonable person would see that as applying relative to a person's degree of rational autonomy.
Living the why you want to is only self for selfish people. And at the end of the day, if it is within the law people have the right to be selfish.
