    I think this man has taken on an immeasureable amount of burden thrown upon him, in an attempt to right wrongs and create a positive image for our country, both internally and for those that look upon us.  One by one, he's tackled these issues with grace and diplomacy - and no, not always to each our likings; however, we are not privy to the enormous insight he has in that oval office and if we voted him in and he's protecting and helping us thus far, we should hold our tongues in judgement.  What may seem trivial to many (the Olympic games) may be a way for him to invite the world into our country again on terms beyond strategies of war and crisis.  Bush took 4 days to merely "enjoy" the games in his last year - Obama is taking 18 hours to incite a new perception of our country.  Give him a damn break.

    Actually, the Olympics provide a huge revenue boost to the host country. Not just when the games start but leading up to it as well. Getting the International Olympic Committee to name Chicago would start boosting jobs in the area in the form of planning and construction, increase the flow of money from corporate sponsors to get the site prepared, as well as get the citizens excited and moving. It could be a huge boost for the economy.
