If not for George W. Bush, do you honestly think Obama would have been elected President?
I honestly don't believe Obama would have been elected, due to his inexperience. But Obama ran an effective campaign, in which, he was running against Bush and not against MCcain.
No. George Bush actually paved the road for Obama. He pushed through many big government programs. He also was so hated by the mainstream media and the left. He was a very polarizing person as well and entrenched those opposed to conservatism to bring about as far left presidential candidate as could be found.
I think that was answered in two ways as an unequivocal "Yes!" Reason #1: He was able to overcome Hilary Clinton for the Democratic nomination...no small feat. At the same time, even Hilary was not ready for Chicago style politics and she could not hold on the either the Latino or Black vote. Reason #2: The Republicans all but conceited the race by running McCain. I have no axe to grind with McCain but he is a moderate at best and no exactly a charmer in the public debate. He is knowledgeable, he is competent, he is a war hero, he is a very good Senator but his best qualification for President was that "it was his turn". In the end, Palin proped up his ticket to some degree but could not save him. #3. Obama locked up the Latino, Black and Liberal vote and promised everyone the moon to get the office. WB

Right in the middle of the 2008 presidential campaign, McCain suspended his campaign on the excuse that the economy was going "down the tank". Now he opposes Don't Ask, Don't Tell, even though the military brass and others agree to repeal the bam, because our economy is "down the...

The title is misleading, because I have no answer as to why he does. Can those of you who plan to vote, or voted for Obama the first time give some valid reasons?
