What do you think should be done with ex cons after their release from prison?
As a an ex con I know first hand how hard it is to break past old mistakes. In fact last I checked the recidivism rate in Illinois was around 85%, so I beat some heavy odds.
I know, that despite the popular idea that it's the education and the cable tv we get on the, there are other reasons why people keep coming back. Those types would keep coming back even if you turned prisons into hellish dungeons of torture.
When can an ex con say he has paid his due's? When we get out we are offered no real hep. just told to figure how to get a job and become a normal citizen. If you cant, you go back.
