Should there be another inaugration celebration if a President is elected for a 2nd term?
Or should his peeps simply throw him a big party?
I find nothing wrong with another celebration, but I do find a problem with hypocrisy. Usually a second inaugural address is less expensive than the first, but this one has been the most expensive yet.
I find it ironic that the president vowing to save the country (who also has racked up more debt than every single one of our other presidents COMBINED) is the one throwing it. Interesting that taxes covered this $170 million.
No. I think a second term president should take the oath of office as he did, and then get back to work. Spending 50 million on an inaugural celebration during these hard economic times is a waste. And I am not saying this because I am anti-Obama because Bush spent 40 million and that was also a waste of funds.
People are hungry and victims of Sandy are still miserable and homeless--and our government's having a party.
I'm not against a second inauguration celebration but I do feel that it should be more muted and less extravagant the second time around. The money wasted on these affairs is atrocious and obnoxious when compared to the number of Americans on Unemployment and food stamps...
No! Personally I think it is a waste of money, Sort of like a second marriage, small and intimate sounds a lot more sensible and tasteful.
However, it is a tradition, a ritual and historic event for the country be it first term or second so I can see why we continue to have them. The cost sounds high, but so is the money generated by the event from donors and the money that goes in the local economy. Also a byproduct is good will and I am sure hopes of pulling people closer together.
My answer is no, it should be considered as a continuation of the first term.
It is ridiculous to call it an inauguration on the second term.
It wastes the time, money and resources of the government for something that is a mere formality.
I wrote a hub on Obama's second inauguration.

The title is misleading, because I have no answer as to why he does. Can those of you who plan to vote, or voted for Obama the first time give some valid reasons?

her? Why? Why not? Ms. Clinton seem to have the best qualifications for president. She also has political experience and is a quite savvy person?
