    Has anyone seen a protest from or has counter protested the Westboro Baptist Church?

    The "church" protested at my school during my sophomore year when the dramatics program showed "The Laramie Project," which is a play about a gay college student who was murdered in Laramie, Wyonming. At the end of the school day, all of the students, faculty, and parents, even people who hated each other, came together to show the WBC that they weren't welcome.

    No, but I'd be first in line to take part in a counter protest against those cretins if I ever heard of them setting foot in my area.

    Not really, but my brother is watching the group with an eagle's eye. Good job for your school. I'm really embarrassed that they call themselves Baptist... And I'm sorry you had to go through that difficult situation because of their bitter viewpoint.

    It's like a cat meowing outside your window all night. Irritating as heck until you actually see it, soaking wet and about to die from starvation, so pathetic, you can't help but feel sorry for it.

    Westboro's the same. They came to protest at my school as well (also a Laramie play), but in comparison to the counter-protestors, and their message of love and compassion, the Westboro folks just looked pathetic. I felt nothing but pity for them. I don't know if they actually believe what they say (it could just be about the money), but either way, what a hollow existence to live.
