Cant possibly think of a worse job. The entire nation expects you to work miracles, not even realizing you don't have the authority in many areas. Even the tough decisions you make will never please everyone. And because of that people may want your head . Literally. Not for all the money, power, benefits in the world would I do such a thankless job

No, It's an underpaid thankless job in which half the people are going to hate you no matter what you say or do. Even those within your own party are always angling for a position of power.
Everyday a new crisis lands on your desk!
You get the blame for everything that is wrong with the country and none of the credit for anything that is going right for the country.
The opposition party works tirelessly to make sure you're either not "re-elected" or the president who follows you is not from your party by mudding you up whenever possible. Compromise = party betrayal.
Both political parties are guilty of this!
Every (second term president) sees an increase of scandals in their cabinet. Coincidence? I don't think so! smile

It is the most difficult job for sure and I don't want it as well. It is time for a woman President.

The answers thus far show that there are many who complain (on other questions) but no one would want the job.

It certainly makes it easier to criticize when an individually actually has no idea of the pressure, demand and expectations placed on any U.S. President.

The current President has made mistakes, as have all that came before him and he has had a fair amount of success as many who came before him enjoyed.
