It appears that science has proven liberal political beliefs, not conservative ones, are actually linked to psychoticism.

“A political-science journal that published an oft-cited study claiming conservatives were more likely to show traits associated with “psychoticism” now says it got it wrong. Very wrong.

The American Journal of Political Science published a correction this year saying that the 2012 paper has “an error” — and that liberal political beliefs, not conservative ones, are actually linked to psychoticism.

“The interpretation of the coding of the political attitude items in the descriptive and preliminary analyses portion of the manuscript was exactly reversed,” the journal said in the startling correction.

Is someone profoundly unhappy? They likely vote democrat. Right wing voters tend to appreciate things, and are thankful for what they have.

I'm not anything like a super happy fella, but I used to be a lot more unhappy than now, and I used to be a lot more left wing, wanting to see it all burn down.

Did you post this in the wrong forum by accident?

This story has a life of its own. However, there are some problems with it:

    (1) This article is more than two years old, (2) The New York Post article failed to differentiate between psychotic and psychoticism; especially how the two terms are used by social scientists (3) The editor of the article obviously wanted a sensational headline and mentioned 'psychotic' rather than the other more appropriate term. (4), The original research was flawed (5) correlation is not causation and (6) this was actually a study made by social scientists who used different tools and procedure to gather data (in this case, questionnaire) than what is used if this was a scientific study.

The article on the matter from the site The Cut does a pretty good job of fleshing it out a very complex story. In addition, it shows that the two terms psychotic and psychoticism are actually to different things.

    Okay,

Here is a link to the actual study paper.  It's a bit involved.

"Which end of the political spectrum is more prone to exhibit behavioral restraint and
obedience to established social norms and dictates? Which end is more prone to disinhibited violations of societal conventions and taboos? The answer provided by ordinary intuition –which identifies conservatives with obedience and constraint, and liberals with openness and disinhibition – is well-supported by psychological data and theory.

I do not want to see political topics on these forums.

    Take it elsewhere.

I think he did this on purpose just to annoy people that do not waste their time on th political forums. The best thing to do is report it so that HP will move it to where it belongs.
