How many people agree with the Supreme court decision on the Census?

    Just curious where my fellow hubbers are on this issue. I know we have a full spectrum of political leanings here. This census question asking about citizenship just rubs me the wrong way. I mean, what is the point of taking a census if we are not allowed to ask certain questions? These are anonymous questionnaires, aren’t they? 
    Why is the Supreme court even divided on this? 5/4. Chief justice John Roberts have done it again. How can he call himself a conservative? when he consistently vote with the liberal justices?
    Rhis one should have been a no brainer 9-0 for supporting the question, which by the way was included in previous census going back many years...it was taken away back in 2010 I believe...

      Not I.  The only possible reasons for not doing it is to gain political power in elections and politically provided money for the state.  Exactly what SCOTUS complained about.

      Neither is acceptable to me.  Seems our liberal court has decided that foreign citizens, in particular ones here illegally, shall be used to determine the outcome of our elections.  Presumably it is OK to use Russian help as well! big_smile
