0Merriam-Webster dictionary says weird means;
1 : of, relating to, or caused by witchcraft or the supernatural
2 : of strange or extraordinary character : odd, fantastic
Urban dictionary says it means;
"A word used by many people which is usually meant to be negative. If someone calls you weird it's usually because you're saying something or acting different than another person would. People don't know how to handle this so than they just respond by saying "You're so weird!!!!"
Weird has been tossed about recently in political discussions more so used by the left toward the right. Have you caught anything on it?
YouGov apparently caught the trend and did a poll on August 1 published on the 2nd. They asked if a person thought they themself was weird and if liberals think conservatives are weird and vice versa. They offered no definition for weird leaving it to the participant. Does the definition change with context?

From Wired Magazine comes . . .
"Y’all are weird. In a matter of days, this has become the go-to response in internet discussion. As with all things online, it’s hard to pinpoint where weird started. It may have been Minnesota governor Tim Walz on MSNBC saying “[Republicans] come across as weird.” Or maybe it was the blogs proclaiming “conservatives are struggling to get ahead of the whole ‘weird’ thing.” Maybe it was the reaction in your home to those Google Gemini ads running during the Paris Olympics where a parent encourages their kid to use AI to write a fan letter to their favorite athlete.
Whatever the origins, it’s clear: The Weird Era has begun."
Welcome to the Weird Era (Aug 2, 2024)

Thoughts, criticisms, accolades, or social commentary.
Its a throwback to public school social structure and morays.
No one wants to be thought of as "weird." They try their best to fit in and be what they think others want according to what is accepted, hip and cool.
To suspect on any level that others thought of you as weird was just not acceptable.
I think it was started by a casual comment made by Trump in an interview.
The left and their obedient media outlets have thrown it back in our faces just to be provocative and MEAN.
Its nonsense.

In the name of justice, the founding fathers of this nation's constitution encouraged the formation of a democratic republic for the establishment of a self-governing nation. They distrusted pure democracy and this distrust is reflected in The Constitution. It was a basic premise of the founders...
