down to the wire for elections I remain confident that no matter what the outcome of the elections the American people will recognize (if not now hopefully later) more of what they did not see before and make the changes, push for the changes, that need to be made to better the country for everyone.
it is also important to recognize that capitalism has not been perfect and that capitalism is not all bad, but that some take advantage while others allow it to happen, and that things do need to change with it.
and that degrees of socialism are not perfect either...where is the common ground that provides all people with the opportunity to achieve for their own good and not become complacent if handed help , or know they have a place to get help when they need it, but especially recognize when they are manipulated, coerced, or put down; radical actions are never better than harmonious communication and actions
it is better if there is a balance of forces in the government, or we are just going to have more of the same regardless of which "side" wins...for in reality no one wins when there is not balance in perspectives to "round out the rough edges" and "blunt the sharp corners"
when we choose to connect with our highest level of consciousness/God consciousness (which I know is what we are all learning to discern) peace, harmony and the wisdom of communication are the keys to that connection. anger, hatred, ridicule, cynicism, sarcasm, and the blindness that believes that one person created the whole problem or that one person can fix the problems is not seeing reality. just because we may feel happy does not make it so...don't delude yourself that that is the tell of truth.
to support the core of each other and those in leadership is important; but as well it is good to recognize their faults, experiences and tendencies from past actions and associations to also be relevant to their potential ability to act in good conscience for the benefit to all.
and above all...who are the "backers" and "shapers" of one's persona ???
has anyone really lost sight of the Truth behind America's purpose ?
SJ, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you've accepted this campaign the way the GOP has framed it. You didn't mention socialism until Palin told you to.
I really wish more people would learn to analyze facts for themselves and not just regurgitate politicians' talking points without so much as a single independent thought.

Do you think things are changing for the better or for the worse?War, depression, no jobs, hunger, prices skyrocketing, is this a good thing? Are we heading for something that will be better; or are we heading for more of the same?

It has got to be an employer's market, a cousin of mine called and said that he got a job. The employer said that he was to work part time and was expected to be on call virtually at all times the store was open. Of course, no benefits outside the crappy compensation. What the hell is going on...

I've never understood the idea of Popes and such; but I have to like this guy. And I love this quote. I also cheered when I read he called unfettered capitalism the dung of the devil.I would hope that, even the staunchest right wing republicans could see that we are lumbering forward in a system...

Some say that capitalism pretty much causes *hell on earth*. How could we bring about *heaven on earth*, instead?
