Global warming is it a myth or realty?

Updated on April 26, 2015

The term global warming has gone by the wayside in recent years the term to describe this philosophy has now become climate change. It does not matter what you call it for the discussion of this philosophy is not going to go away anytime soon, if ever. There have been many statements and statistics to support this environmental situation and many who point to statistics which refute supporter claims.

The reason I believe the name has changed is the statistics could not support the philosophy that the earth was increasing in temperature and there were many skeptics. Climate change is a term more agreeable but it still has some problems. There is no dispute that there are changes in our climate but it is the normal process of weather changes from year to year. Much data has been collected and analyzed that our winters and summers seem to project going from mild winters to severe winters and hot summers to cool summers. According to forecasters they sometimes refer to cycles of weather changes and whether we are at the point of below normal temperatures or above and whether we are at above normal precipitation or below. It always refers to as weather cycles. It is a normal progression of changes and does not mean it is associated with any weather related trends such as global warming or climate change.

Governments around the world are spending millions if not billions on the assumption that the evolution of weather will eventually impact the oceans to such a degree that coastal cities will be flooded. I understand the need to be prepared in the event of any emergency and weather climate change is in fact real at this point is based on opinion with so much conflicting information. There have even been reports that results of research have been altered to support the conclusion that changes in our climate is occurring. Another problem involved if it is proven to exist is what actions can us as individuals take to impact our climate if it is indeed changing. The amount of tax dollars in our country and the money spent in other countries seems to be all about pushing this philosophy of global warming or climate change as it is now called.

It is not just about the money government is spending but the push that government knows best how to spend our tax dollars. I am all for protecting the environment and making preparations to address any climate changes that may affect our daily lives. Each country is different and has different circumstances and changes or actions necessary with regards to global warming or climate change will be different.

The technology of today brings forth much information to support both sides of this issue and this article is not being written to clearly prove or disprove the philosophy of either side. The purpose is to provide information so we can draw our own conclusions. Multiple departments of the federal government are involved with the philosophy of climate change assuming that it is real when there is no clear proof either way. While weather events can impact the mission of various departments or agencies it is appropriate to plan for events and actions to be taken if such events occur. One such agency is FMEA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) of which we are all familiar as we see it respond to weather disasters across the country. These occurrences do not prove or disprove the theory of climate change. Another department is the Interior Department which has as part of their strategic actions to address climate issues which could impact their responsibilities.

With the Internet there is much information about global warming but as with anything else it is difficult to know who and what is reliably presenting the information. I am not a climate expert but there are indications that the atmospheric temperatures are changing, the question is how much and over what length of time is the change occurring. Some use statistics that imply the change is occurring rapidly while others say it is over a longer period of time. Reports have indicated in places exhibiting glaciers that they are melting while in other locations the area covered by ice is getting larger. It is unknown what is causing these changes and the reason for the differences from one area to another. I believe that not everything we do impacts the climatic changes occurring but if the connection can be proven then actions may be necessary to make the appropriate changes. The key point is that there needs to be a solid connection between our actions as individuals and as a country need to be confirmed and with the data being reported as a result of research and analysis provides no clear cut connection. As stated earlier in this article we may agree on an overall issue such as global warming. Agreeing an issue exist is not the problem it is the approach to address it.

Yes, apparently that is the actual "inconvenient truth!" lol Good one WBA. But then Gore is consistent, if you don't agree with him you are a nut case denier of his truth, even if it's the guy "Gore's" truth was based on and that guy changes his mind. Obvious who is living in denial and it ain't the accused global warming deniers.

Nice video, interesting that Al Gore refuses to debate Global Warming despite having many offers to do so. He's also willing to throw his former mentor under the bus when the truth becomes "inconvenient" for his agenda!

I agree WBA. When you get right down to it there is NO evidence for man man made global warming and the only "evidence" actually used is the result of computer models which have historically been wrong and everyone knows can be manipulated to get the result they want. You can chalk the whole man made global warming issue up to fake news, nothing more. No different than the Russians hacked the election. This kinda says it all:

There is no doubt the weather is cyclical but it by no means proves that its man made. And as you mentioned, there seems to be conflicting information on this issue.

I believe that the political left is conveniently using the climate change ruse as a way to increase state influence over the lives of people, which is their ultimate goal anyway.
