Lowes Home Improvement
This is the case in our community, but not in all Lowe's stores.
My husband is a military veteran. He served during the Vietnam era in the 60's. He was asked by a clerk at Lowe's if he was a veteran. He said, "Yes, why?"
She said, "Well, we have a 10% discount for veterans and active duty and I wanted to help you save some money." After he asked her what made her thing he was a veteran, and she told him that she had been married to several veterans, she knew how to pick them out of a crowd.
So shop Lowe's.
Car purchases , discounts for that new vehicle.
GM Military Discount
I don't know what the actual "deal" is at GM, but I've found this spoken of on several web sites. Hopefully it's the real deal. When you're ready for a new car, this sounds like a place to start.

What is a "Valid Military I.D.?"
On the Military.com Deals web page here's a description.
What does "Valid Military ID required" mean? What is a valid military ID?
Some coupons and discounts require the user to show proof that they are a member of the DoD, Armed Services, or dependent.
A valid Military ID is an identity document issued by the United States Department of Defense to identify a person as a member of the Armed Forces or a member's dependent, such as a child or spouse.
The primary types of U.S. military ID cards being issued today are the CAC (for active duty members of the military), the DD Form 2, and Department of Defense Form 1173, for retirees and dependents. The DD Form 2 is commonly mistaken with the DD 1173 (as they are similar in appearance), however they are two separate forms. The DD Form 2 form number is appended with one of five codes to denote branch of service (A, AF, N, MC, or CG).

I'm so proud of our young people in this country. Whether they have served in Iraq or Desert Storm or Afghanistan or on the home front, they have stepped away from the common day to day graduate high school, look for a job, continue education, marry, start a family and instead stepped up along with their extended and immediate families to serve the country in a noble act. We must remember them.
If you know of another discount opportunity for military and veterans, please add it to the list above. I've started a list that can be posted in social media or on your lens. Let's get this information out to these awesome men and women returning home.
