Presidential Cabbage Patch Dolls
Presidential Cabbage Patch Dolls Charity Auction
There have been two sets of brand-new, one-of-a-kind Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls created recently that represent members of the U.S. government and were auctioned for charity.
In 2012, the dolls represented President Candidate Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney and Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan. All proceeds from the eBay auction of these dolls went towards Rock the Vote, a non-partisan, non-profit organization.
In 2008, Cabbage Patch created dolls in the forms of the Presidential Candidates - Joe Biden, John McCain, Barack Obama and Sarah Palin. All proceeds from the eBay auction of these dolls went to Marine Toys For Tots, a charity group of the U.S. Marine Corps that collects toys for needy kids.
On this page learn a bit more about the dolls, check out what they looked like and find out what some of them sold for.

The Cabbage Patch Kids Presidential Election Candidate Auctions
Aren't these Kids adorable? Right down to Sarah Palin's rimless eyeglasses, hairdoo, red suit and heels!
I was very excited about these eBay auctions and I am not even a U.S. citizen. (That is my disclaimer. If I have made any mistakes about these four candidates or the U.S. election, please, please let me know.) I just think the idea was fun, the dolls were amazing and the charity very worthwhile. For more details about the auction please read this page. The results of the auctions will appear below. One hundred percent of the proceeds from these 'Kids will go to charity.
"These four folks in particular seemed like the perfect candidates, if you will, to become one-of-a-kind Cabbage Patch Kids."
"We've had a great history with making celebrity look-alikes with these Kids. We've done everyone from Elvis to Donald Trump to Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey." - Jakks Pacific Inc. spokeswoman Genna Rosenberg

How Much Do Expensive Cabbage Patch Kids Sell For?
Other than the Presidential Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, I wondered how much expensive "regular" dolls are and read about Emerald Nicole, a rare Xavier Roberts doll from about 1984. She has C Burgandy papers as that was what was available when she was first adopted. (They had used up all the B Red papers.) An interesting part of this doll's story is that she was placed on hold for one of the employees and then they didn't want her after all. By that point though, all the B Red papers were gone and so she was issued C Burgandy. This doll sold for $3,649 and a group of three 1979 dolls signed by Xavier Roberts sold for $3,900. They also had their original paperwork intact.
The eBay and Cabbage Patch Kid Fine Print
Each one of the 2008 candidate Cabbage Patch Kids dolls was custom produced for this auction and therefore did not come in standard store sealed packaging. It was issued in packaging that was specially created to keep the doll safe. Each doll is one-of-a-kind and another will NEVER be made!
These dolls are not suitable for young children as they contain small parts that could present a choking hazard. They were not really designed to be a toy, and at the prices in the auction, I assume that the purchaser will not ever play with the doll.
eBay prequalified bidders for this auction. That helped to ensure the validity and sincerity of those participating in the auction. To bid, you had to ask to be a prequalified bidder.
United States shipping was included in the price of these dolls.
We'd all agree that creating and auctioning these Cabbage Patch kids for charity is a good thing. But are they cute?
How Much Did the 2008 Presidential Campaign Cabbage Patch Kids Sell For?
Sarah Palin Sold for A Whopping $19,000!!!
Barack Obama Sold For $8,400
John McCain Sold $6,000
Joe Biden sold for $3,550
Who Purchased These Dolls?
Wondering what happened to the Barack Obama Cabbage Patch doll?
The winning bidder was a buyer who uses the eBay ID name "TCMLSALES" and which stands for The Computer Merchant, Ltd. I read that their plan was to have each of the dolls signed by the candidate and then to resell them for charity.

Wow Sarah Palin Cabbage Patch Doll sold for 19k, a chance it was for charity! I don,t find them particularly cute lol, but the idea is interesting.
Gobsmacked at the price they went for! I think they would have been better had they been more like kids/babies.
LOL! Too funny!!!
Amazing, never heard of these! So Sarah Palin got the highest bid...interesting:-) Thanks for adding this and your other lenses to the list on my Betsy Wetsy lens. ~claudia

Wow! Who woulda thunk? Well done.
Very interesting. Probably would never have known about this if not for you. Thanks for a well-told story.
Wow! What prices! Cute idea for a lens. Maybe I should make celebrity dolls to sell.
One cool and unique lens!
Excellent lens. I love that the money raised will go to charity. I personally wouldn't buy one of the dolls, but my mother would! I'll have to see if she still has the 2 cabbage patch dolls she bought around 1980 after seeing these prices! 5 stars and a favorite. Bear hugs, Frankster
Your screenshots look great and I love the lens! 5*
Wow. That's funny. or crazy. or just plain cute. I'm not sure. But it's not too surprising Pailin won this one: she's definitely the cutest dolly :) Though Obama comes in a close second in my book.
I've been following political dolls for quite some time. This is a great patch of dolls!
lol these are hilarious! Great lens! high fivers :)
OMG, this is so funny! I think it's a great way to raise money for a good cause.
Awesome lens! The dolls are so cool and I'd never heard of them. I hope they raise a ton of money for charity!
The candidates are not worthy of being voted in office. As for the dolls, whoever created them has talent.
Too funny...that's a cool idea for a fundraiser. Thanks for sharing and nice work on the lens.
Awesome idea and a great lens! No surprise that Sarah Palin is outstripping everyone in the bidding so far, though. I hope it hits $10k!!
Great idea... I hope a lot of money is raised for charity.
Fun lens! What a great way to raise money for charity. :D
McCain looks kind of angry - at least the other 3 are smiling. I sell Cabbage Patch Kid sized clothing, so I bet my eBay listings will see an uptick in traffic. 5*!

I love it! What a fun way to raise money. :)
I agree about Sarah Palin's ankles, but what a great idea for a charity auction! Also, a great idea for a lens. Nice job!
If I were Sarah Palin, I'd be horrified! Look at those ankles! These are adorable!
