William King Harvey

Updated on January 24, 2015

Bill Harvey was known as "the American James Bond"

As the CIA's Berlin station chief, he successfully built the tunnel to the Soviet sector to spy on their communications, but he's better known for arranging Operation Mongoose, the CIA's enlistment of the Mafia in its plots to assassinate Fidel Castro.

His first major move was to arrange a meeting between the CIA support chief, James O'Connell, and the mob's man in Las Vegas and L.A., Johnny Roselli, which was orchestrated by Howard Hughes executive Robert Maheu. Mob bosses Sam Giancana and Santos Trafficante met with Maheu, O'Connell and Roselli soon afterward during the week of September 25, 1960.

JFK And The Unspeakable

I've read at least a hundred books about the JFK presidency, his assassination, research into that event and related people. In my experience, this is the best book to date covering all of these topics.

Operation Mongoose

Great JFK assassination research material on Amazon
