5 Reasons Your Arguments Against the LGBTQ+ Community Are Invalid

Updated on June 11, 2019

Lets start off with the obvious, but maybe not so obvious, fact that homosexuality is found in over 450 species. I don't know about you, but I can only think of 1 species where hate against the LGBTQ+ has humility, discrimination, murder and suicide. Are the odds in our favor? No. So what is it that people are saying that inspired this article? I'll start off short and simple.

5. "I don't want my kids to be exposed to that disgusting lifestyle"
You say as you hit your significant other every night before dinner. I'd rather my children be in a loving, supportive home than being taught to take out their anger on any human or animal. Now yes, maybe you're not like that. Congratulations. You may not be hitting your spouse, but you are still teaching your children that HATE IS OKAY, that if another person has different views, opinions, or lifestyles, they are the enemy and they are wrong. The only thing "wrong" is your perception on life.

4. "I'm okay with gay people, I just don't want to see it"
Nice try, but no one wants to see you grinding at the bar either, sweetie. We do what everyone else does. Ignore it. Its none of our business what you do with your life unless its harmful to yourself or others.

3. "That "homo" keeps watching me undress in the locker room"
.... Trust me, kid. No they aren't. The only thing going on in that locker room is the lack of air from your ego, and your insecurity about your own sexuality.

2. "Transgender people are using my bathroom and it makes me uncomfortable!"
Seriously? Does anyone realize how long that's been going on before it was brought to the medias attention? $100 says you wouldn't be able to tell a transgender from a Cisgender (someone whose gender identity matches their assigned sex) even if you tried. They are beautiful people, and they just want to use the bathroom, dude. Just like you. No ones trying to sneak a peek or molest your kid. Why do people hear "transgender" and instantly think "rapist"? I could write an entire article about transgenders and restrooms, but for now i'll just leave it at this.

And my all time favorite;

1. "God said Adam and Eve!"
Yeah, god made Adam and Eve... to reproduce. Now there's an overflow of population. Thanks, Adam. Anyone ever hear of separation of church and state? or am I making things up? You can do whatever you want with your church or religion, but I sure as hell know if you believe so much in God, tell me why he made homosexuality in not only humans, but animals? Would he approve of your hate? Who gave you permission to say what is right and wrong for an entire species? Contrary to popular belief, people don't just "decide" to be gay. You either are or you aren't.

All in all, homosexuality dates back to Ancient Greece, and this is nothing new. The only thing new is your bigoted opinion on something that has nothing to do with you, nor is it psychically or mentally harmful to your children. Think twice next time you want to point the blame at someone else for your failure to see how thick minded and hateful you are towards people so loving and kind. Reevaluate your life. Who's really the problem in the world?
