A Love Awaits...

Some thoughts on my adventures in the world of cyber dating...

Seniors on-line dating
Seniors on-line dating

Complex algorithms lay in Wait...

Eschewing the heart's Desire...

The Web evokes misunderstanding.

I wish to still my hidden Hate...

I wish to damp the raging Fire...

My plea to all is Undemanding.

Platitudes swarm, testimonials abound, the heart listens to it all...

The mind is torn, with words that sound, like echos of a protocol..

I want to love again, to feel her hand on my knee...

To share again, the mornings dawn and the evenings dusk...

To feel again, your body next to mine in quiet intimacy...

To have again, the scents of love, the sweaty smell of musk...

My love awaits, and surely she is there...

It's interesting that the comments have described the dissolution of human interface vs the robotic response of social media...The Media rebirth of digisexuals is interesting in that there is always the 10 percent that never gets the word, or get the word and ignores it, or gets the word and doesn't understand it....Human presuppositions are endlessly interesting to me, and to most thinking people...Not so much as I think they are wrong, but because they are insightful to the extent that they they have a causative effect on human behaviour...

Hi Lora...I agree with all your comments, especially the perpetual use of the ubiquitous iPhone that has replaced human interaction...At a recent family gathering everyone was preoccupied with their iPhones and hardly said a word...Cursive writing is a dying skill for most and the prevalent usage of texting has led to the corrosive abbreviation of the English language...One result of this new technology has been the commercialization of love, or what passes for love these days...Larry

I thought that this poem really expressed the need for true love and also it evokes feelings of frustration with a society that is so addicted to technology in almost every facet of our lives- even dating! Every day it seems like people are becoming more distant from each other as technology gets in the way of all our relationships. The irony is that even though it is easier in some ways to communicate, we aren't doing it on a deeper more spiritual level which is so vital in fulfilling our human needs. I enjoyed your insightful and touching poem.

Paula...Again, I have followed you for years..Your comments have always been up beat, factual, and with a deep love for this country and its Constitution...

Your comments give me pause...I pause because it occurs to me that my friends, and I consider you a friend, would care for my pursuit of happiness...Thank you for caring...Larry

      breakfastpop...

Been following you for years, always amazed at your positive and confident take on the political scene...

I would be the lucky one if I find a woman that will find my cooking passable, my jokes funny, and thinks Ayn Rand is the greatest thing since fried rice...

Thank you for the encouraging comment...Larry

Maven......Such a deeply touching poem, I understand the longing. My hope for you is that this love you seek, becomes a new reality in your life, very soon. I do believe once we have known the beauty of a closeness with someone, we wish to find it again. Wishing your dreams fulfilled, Paula
