A one way friendship

Updated on June 4, 2012

Are you giving into your friends more than you should? It could be you are in a one way friendship.

Like relationships, friendships are 50/50. If you are; putting in all of the work, doing all of the planning, calling etc then you are in a one way friendship. Both of you should be calling each other and going out of your way for each other. You also should be there for each other when one of you needs someone to talk to.

If you are in a one way friendships talk to your friend. If she will not change then move on. It may be hard but focus on people who will reciporcate. That's what friendship is all about.

I know what you mean. I had a friend who I absolutely adored, but he would never pay any attention to me. I found out once though that I was the one not putting any effort into a friendship, someone I considered my best friend, and that helped me put into perspective just how much work is really required in a friendship.
