Break the Illusion by Davey Wavey

Updated on September 21, 2011

Light and Loveable

For the last couple of months I have been subscribed to a website/blog called Break the Illusion by Davey Wavey. I would have to say the not only does Davey Wavey have a great character and charisma but he also sends out the message of love, peace, and laughter.

When I first started "coming out" this year I thought it was this big and serious thing that could cause a lot of problems for myself as well as with my family, but the truth of the matter is it really was not that big of a deal. I found some relief when I started watching Davey Wavey's videos on "how to come out" or "how to celebrate being gay." They were not complicated and in each of his videos there is a light humor. While watching I would start thinking things such as: "Well, this guy is very comfortable with his sexuality and he doesn't make a big deal out of it. He just has fun."

Not only does Davey Wavey have a blog dedicated to gay pride and being yourself, but he is also a fitness coach and as you can tell, he has an amazing body! When I get the money up I would like to purchase some of his workout materials, but for now I enjoy the free tips and articles on fitness, nutrition, etc.

Message of Love

Davey Wavey spreads the message of love. If you watch his videos he will often comment just briefly on hot topics, but he does not get caught up with them or angry. He has this basic concept that if you fight with or against something such as Don't Ask, Don't Tell or Position 8, then you are going to create more negative energy. (The end results being undesirable.)

I believe his love to be genuine and his creativity to be very entertaining and uplifting. Also, power of positive thinking is strong in many of his videos and blogs.

His Marketing...

Usually, I find websites that have a lot of ads to be quite annoying and not very personable. However, I believe for a gay website this has to be one of the best I have come across. It also contains enough original material to offset all of the ads I do believe. I hate, Hate, HATE pop up ads and usually they would bother me, but since my experience on his website is usually a pleasant one I just tend to overlook them. I do believe he could calm down on trying to make the money, but hey...he is doing really good for himself.

On the plus side of his marketing is how often he updates his websites with new material. This is great and for me I love getting an e-mail each day or every other day talking about his new ideas or what not.

Also, sex sells. He has a great body and he flaunts it in all of his videos which I think is awesome. Being sexy represents him and spreads the message that gay people need to feel comfortable for who they are and what kind of bodies they have.

Lastly, take note that he does a live web show each Monday night!

My Idea for Davey

I can hardly ask for anything more then he is putting out, but if I was to perhaps offer an idea it would be for him to cover some topics aside from gay topics. I understand that is what his topics are about but I would just love to see him do some movie or music reviews or some topics on finances. I think his talent and presentation are too great to just cover one or two topics even though he covers them very well.

Peter, let's promote the wider picture of being gay, shall we? Fun, laughter, poking fun at ourselves and laughing with the supportive straights......

For people like myself who are getting a little "past it" in the true "topsy-turvy-night-time-purvy" sort of a way, life has taken on a warming to everyone's needs around me.

But I still like a site such as Davy's, because I can still dream!!!

Thanks RavenBiker for your comments! I agree that it would be awesome to see him in some stylish clothes but I'm just happy that he is happy in the skin he is in. There are too many people not comfortable with their bodies. Anyhow, if you subscribe to his Facebook page he does post pictures occasionally of himself with clothes on.

I come across davey wavey more than a year ago. I guess I'm a sour-puss cuz he is way too sweet. I do like his important message but I would be curious to see him in clothes (as a gay man, this comment is contradictory). Thanks for giving this guy some Hub exposure!

You are not the only girl to both ask that question, or feel that way! ha ha... I'm so glad I am gay so I can enjoy this.

It is funny you call him scrumptious and that you can "eat him up!" Girls say that ALL the time on his facebook and blog! lol
