Coincidence or Planned?
The definition of coincidence is
The state or fact of occupying the same relative position or area in space.
A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged.
Deepak Chopra says:
Coincidences are not accidents but signals from the universe which can guide us toward our true destiny.
In my reality coincidences seem to happen way too often and the older I get the more overwhelming they become. A few years ago when my father past away I began looking into my family history. He died October 9th, his birthday was October 11th. Nothing too unusual about that except that the dates are very close. My mother past away two years before my father. She died on June 15th, she was born on June 4th. A little eerie so I pursued it further. I never met my grandfather; he lived and died in Germany. I had some trouble finding his statistics so I went through some old pictures and found a photo originally sent from Germany to my father around the time of my grandfather’s death. It was an image of a gravestone; the stone had my grandfather’s name on it and his date of birth September 15th and the day he died September 24th. There was another name on the stone, a woman’s name. I had some difficulty making it out so I scanned the picture into Photoshop. I cropped it and sharpened it up a bit. Of course, it’s my grandfather’s wife. Born in January, died January 10th. Wow. But she was my grandfather’s second wife, not a blood relative. My original grandmother, I remember my father telling me when I was a child, had died at a very young age on the exact date of her birth. At the time he told me this fact, it didn’t seem unusual, just a “coincidence”. So it seems as though I’m a lucky guy. I may be the only person on earth who knows the exact month they’ll leave the earth. Is this all a coincidence or “A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged?”
Some other “coincidences”.
Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day, July 4, 1826 – exactly 50 years from the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Mark Twain was born on the day of the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1835, and died on the day of its next appearance in 1910. He himself predicted this in 1909, when he said: "I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it."
In the 19th century, the famous horror writer, Edgar Allan Poe, wrote a book called 'The narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym'. It was about four survivors of a shipwreck who were in an open boat for many days before they decided to kill and eat the cabin boy whose name was Richard Parker. Some years later, in 1884, the boat called the Mignonette foundered with only four survivors who were in an open boat for many days. Eventually the three senior members of the crew killed and ate the cabin boy. The name of the cabin boy was Richard Parker.
