Fall Themed Wedding Favors

Updated on March 14, 2014

Turn Over A New Leaf!

The romance of a fall wedding, when colors are in full bloom and there’s a crispness to the air, is undeniable. If you’re helping plan the favors for the big day, why not use the idea of “Turning over a New Leaf” as the theme? You can include subtle, fun leaf-shaped, fall wedding favors that guests will be talking about long after the big day.

Personalized Silk Leaves

Have silk maple and oak leaves personalized with the couple’s name and wedding date. Then, scatter them around the reception. You can adhere a leaf-shaped chocolate to one at each place with a pretty burgundy or orange ribbon.

Maple Leaf Candies

If you’re in the heart of fall, you’re sure to be able to find maple leaf shaped candies. You can find them online year round. These sweet delicacies are made from maple syrup and are molded into leaf forms and dusted with sugar. A lovely addition to any table.

Maple Syrup Favors

There are some gorgeous bottles of maple syrup in the shape of the maple leaf. Not only are these delicious gifts, but they will look so pretty on every table.

Be sure to add a personalized hang tag that features your names along with the wedding date.  You can even find leaf-shaped personalized tags online too.

Leaf Place Card Holders or Frames

You can purchase leaf-shaped table cards for guests to take home at the end of the festivities. Include leaf-shaped cards with each person’s name and table number too.

Seasonal place card frames are a great choice as well. Choose frames that have a decorative fall leaf border. Include a picture of the bride and groom in it or turn the frames into seat indicators for your wedding guests.

All the rage in green wedding favors are seed cards guests can plant when they get home. Leave a leaf-shaped seed card at every place with a personalized name and date on it. The cards shown in the photo to the right do double-duty as plantable favors and place cards.

Leaf-Shaped Bookmarks or Cookie Cutters

Instead of turning down the page of their book, guests will have a leafy bookmark to place inside their favorite novel. They’ll think of you and your lovely fall wedding every time they do.

Provide your guests with lovely leaf-shaped cookies and attach a leaf-shaped cookie cutter with a pretty fall ribbon. You might even want to include a recipe for sugar or maple cookies. What an adorable fall themed cookie party favor!

Leaf Shaped Candy Dishes

Find small candy dishes in the shape of leaves. You often see them at Halloween and Thanksgiving time, so you can purchase them a year in advance for a discount. Fill them with personalized m&ms or Jordan almonds. Hershey kisses come in fall-colored wrappers during the season, so you can fill dishes with kisses. Wrap the dishes in netting or ribbon so the candies stay secure all the way home. You want guests to know they’re for the taking, not for guests to eat during the festivities.

Customize Anything with Leaf Die Cut or Rubber Stamp!

Crafters will easily be able to find leaf-shaped die cutters for paper. Cut out leaf shapes and scatter them everywhere in the reception hall. Create leaf-shaped decorations to tie onto candy bars or soaps.

There’s no end to the hand-made leaf favors you can make with a little imagination. Roll some beeswax candles and secure paper leaves with twine to a pair of them.

And consider making your own note cards to send to the guests to say thanks for the gift.  You can use a rubber stamp to create just the look you want for your fall wedding!

Leaf Shaped Soaps or Candles

Create a bouquet of leaf shaped soaps on a pretty leaf patterned tray or dish. Arrange them and then secure them with orange tulle and a satin ribbon in cream or yellow.

Or buy pre-made soaps that are already gift boxed and ready to go.  The beautiful brown and ivory box shown to the right contains two leaf-shaped soaps....what a great favor for a fall wedding!

Mini Woodland Baskets

Create individual woodland baskets by placing real leaves inside each one. Place scented pine cone candles, fall-themed candies and more inside. Just remember if you are using real leaves that they will curl and become dried quickly, so you might want to opt for silk leaves instead. Tie a fall-colored silk bow at the handle for a finishing touch.

Another fun idea would be to create a fall cookie basket that is filled with seasonal goodies such as leaf-shaped cut-out cookies or brownies, molasses cookies, maple candies, and of course, some sort of apple or pumpkin spice bars. What a sweet way to say thanks!
