6 Most Annoying Things Girlfriends Do Without Realizing

Updated on May 9, 2014

Being in a relationship has lots of benefits as well as pains. I remember back in 2008 when I was in college, I was dating one of the prettiest girls in college. Certain things about her that I am not sure to say it really turned me off or say it sort of annoyed me big time are listed here for others to learn. I can write this hub because she has gone out of my life. Thanks to the universe for granting my wish. I am pretty sure you will find many in your relationship. Here is my list.

1. She Remembers Every Single Fight We had

This I don't mean physical bashing. I never bash a women. I have my reasons not to. Every time I didn't satisfy one of her demands or desires, she remembers all that so well that she can even give a full thesis when she wanted to. This to me was totally annoying. It is only human that I made mistakes. She does that too. I forgive and forget but for her, she carried the big luggage around frequently emptying all the stinking garbage out killing us both.

2. She Complains Just About Anything

She should better be a radio announcer. She complains just about every thing. Food, clothes, money, our friends and family. The most annoying thing I hate was when she brought her family problem into our relationship. For instance, her mother gets on her for something and then she instead of getting mad with her mum gets mad with me for very little or should I say unnecessary things. Sometimes I used to think this beautiful girl was insane.

Not to forget her mothers throws her fingers right into the heart of our relationship. She tries to tell us how to live but then we were growing up adults in college. OK. Its better to take advice from the older ones but it gets annoying when the older ones try to dictate your life. To me this was totally crazy.

3. Unwanted Organization Of My Stuff

To this I understand she only tried to help. I love her for doing that but only as lovers. Only if she consults me where to put what and what to put where. I have to be honest here that I lead a higly organised life. I am a writers, environmental researcher, I work with so many NGOs and I am a public figure. It only makes life easy when I live an organised life. When ever I want to get something, I just go and pick it up because I know where exactly I had placed it. What used to pissed me off was that she comes to my room and organizes things in my room in the way she wants it. Even she decided the type of curtain I should buy for my room back in our college days.

I had all this bottled up inside me because she was soft and I didn't wanted to hurt her by telling her I didn't like her doing that. Ask me why? Read the next reason.

4. She Cries At Things Not Worthy For Her Tears

Its OK to cry. When her granny died she cried bitterly and I had to give her all the comfort she needed. When her mum walked out of their family I was the shoulder she cried on. That is perfectly normal. But not when she called for me to come quickly to see her and because I was doing a major assignment, I had to come late and what? She cries. Damn. Not when she didn't score well in her sociology exam. She should study hard instead than to waste tears. Damn again. Not when Jack in Titanic drowns. Not when I justify to her that I wanted my soils research books to be stacked in one row and on-line writing books on the other row. Most of this tears were totally unnecessary and to me were annoying. Why? We should be happy and not crying and cry when it necessary.

She Moves At A Snail Phase

When I say "Babe I am in a rush to meet my soils professor"...She will yells out "Wait! Wait! Wait!"Then I wait and wait. "Baby I am already late" I'll say again. "Wait" Then she grabs her towel and runs into the shower. I know too well not to leave her behind because if I do she will cry unnecessarily and I just don't want to be annoyed again.

We will say to go and see other friends but she takes million years to change into a proper out fit. Hey! We aren't going out for a formal dinner with the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea.

I am always time conscious and this lateness annoys me.

She Compares Herself With Another women

Find it more annoying to see my women comparing other women with herself. She has my approval and attention already. What more does she wants? I know women are competitive, but it's just not attractive to listen to you dog someone out, particularly someone you don't even know. Kindness is underrated, and cattiness is a mood-killer.

Note

Add to the list what you find annoying about women in your relationship. I would prefer you use your own experience. In the next hub I will produce annoying things about men in a relationship.

You see, looks ARE just skin deep. It's a shame so many people look first and hope that is enough to get them through. Relationships do need working and communication is the key word here. Well done for sharing.

Well aren't you the relationship expert. I really enjoyed this hub, it was actually quite funny. Maybe because I can see myself doing some of the things you warned about! You already know I voted up!

I like your comment especially with the use of that old adage "Beauty is skin deep" It is beauty that sparks up fire initially and leads to a happy or painful relationship. Its just the matter of getting time to really know the person before fully committing yourself to him or her. Time is the biggest secret many overlook.

      Thanks for commenting.

I smiled when reading your comment. I am pretty sure many girls will find themselves doing one of two of these annoying things. Hope they change or else separation is the next step. It happened to me so it can happened to any body. Thanks for commenting.

      Have a top day.

Okay, now you really made me smile! "She grabs her towel and runs into the shower…” Yes, I’ve probably done it, and know many others who have too. But she’ll grow out of it - the older we get the less we care if our hair is perfect or what people think of us. (At least that’s my experience, and my friends.) So the comparing to other women goes too.

More seriously, almost everything you’ve listed here (apart from organising your stuff and that would drive me nuts too) indicates someone who was very insecure. I hope she’s happier now.

      Hi Ian,

Your comment really kind of motivated me. I overcame the obstacle of writing my first hub and published it finally. Have a look. I hope you will like it.

Loved your hub, despite being a female, I appreciate honesty. Although, I do have one question, have you ever set down and nicely and calmly told her what bothers you?

Thanks for taking time to read and comment. I have appreciate honesty and that's what keeps me going strong in bad and good times. To your question, yes. But a nice calm conversation always ends up with her crying her eyes out. How can someone understand if she is busy sobbing when all you do is sit there and wait for her to finish sobbing all to find that when she finishes crying becomes very silent and you feel guilty making her cry....# 4 says it all.

      Appreciate your comment

This is a great list and sometimes I feel really sorry for men. Women can be very difficult and hard to please. For women like me on the opposite end of the spectrum, men tend to walk away because I am too independent. I am still learning how to balance things in a healthy way. I think the worst thing a woman can do is put herself down and compare herself to other women. With enough of that, a woman can convince her man that she is lacking. Well done and great for discussion. I look forward to your hub on men.

      Hi tammyswallow,

You surely hit the spot. Some times women can be very difficult to please. And it should be noted here that man can never fully satisfy a women or vice versa. Simple reason is given by John Gray in his book Men are From Mars and Women Are from Venus. The best thing we can all do (men and women) is to appreciate that we are from different planets living together so all our doings will never fully satisfy the other party. Learning to appreciating and accepting those differences puts each party comfortable positions to make logical decisions for the betterment of the relationship.

Too funny! Unfortunately most women find it hard to forget. We are emotional creatures. I wish I could let things go but for some reason I can not or just don't know how. And believe me some women don't want to be some of the things you describe, it's exhausting but we find ourselves doing it anyway. It's just up to both parties to figure out if they can deal with the other's annoyances and if not move onto the next one until they do. Great hub!

There is an old saying: "There are always two sides to every story." I prefer to say, "There are sometimes many sides to every story: the main ones involved and the observers. An example would be two individuals who had a fight in the street and fifteen eyewitnesses. If one is badly hurt, the police would question the two fighters and the fifteen eyewitnesses. They would look for a pattern among the statements of the eyewitnesses in order to help solve the problem of what happened. Maybe you would tell me that this was a private relationship between you and the young lady, not others. OK. If anything happened between the two of you that drew in the police, I promise that the thoughts of others--family, close friends, eyewitnesses, neighbors, co-workers, etc.--would matter to them.

My point is only your side is aired here. You seem like a very kind-hearted man, but I perceive that you are a "perfectionist." Perfectionists want everything done on time, in order, the best way possible, their way, etc. If they plan your wedding, they would do a great job. Such individuals are hard to please unless they pair with someone like themselves. Perfectionists want mind readers who can please their every desire. I do not doubt that you told the truth about your girl. You probably did. Did you have a serious discussion with her about the things you did not like about her? If you did, did she explain to you the things that she did not like about you? You both probably had a long grievance list of each other. I am sorry that you two could not see eye-to-eye.

These are acts of women that some men find annoying:

** criticizes and judges his friends even though they are good guys

**tries to choose and delete his friends

**gossips on the phone for hours during their time together

**keeps confusion going among other women (chicken fights)

**tells women about their husband’s infidelities that she has witnessed

**wants to choose all of the outfits he wears

**disagrees with him on matters concerning the children in their presence

**tells her friends all of their personal business

**runs to her mother every time they fight or have problems

**criticizes him when he is doing his best

**spends his off days with her friends

**spends money for bills on an irresistible sale at the mall

**acts boisterous/ loud or curses, especially in public

**takes money from his wallet without asking, if this is not pre-approved

**wants to keep up with the Joneses at his expense

      **gets drunk

**tries to wear the pants or be the head of the family when he is quite capable

**does not listen, but want to be heard

      **compares him with her ex-boyfriend

**accuses him of cheating when he doesn’t (although he probably does)

      **lies

**beats up his girlfriend when she catches them together (way to go, girl!)

**does not admit error or that she is wrong

**blames him for everything (He is probably to blame for most.)

**hits him on the head with a skillet before giving him a warning (smart girl!)

**accuses him of looking at attractive women too long (He is guilty!)

**does not praise him when he does well

I had fun writing my reaction, although I am a woman. Thanks for sharing your experience. It is sure to help someone to check her behavior. I am voting up and clicking positive buttons.

you made me SMILE. why? i can relate myself specially to 1,4 and 5? That's how i think i can get my boyfriend's attention. I remember the fight when the same cause of the fight happens again...yes! sorry ,forgive, apologies done -fine! but when such is repeated? terribly that remembers me again! I cry at things not worthy for my tears as you thought? coz I have a very soft heart i think? Even when any presentations I find overwhelming? i cry! so what?just kiss your girlfriend for that! I move slow? when I can't decide at once . Sanguines are like that at times! ! There are four basic temperaments that people are often classified under: Choleric, Sanguine, Melancholic, and Phlegmatic. why not take a test yourself so you will know your temperament. www.quibblo.com/quiz/ihivEQL/Four-Temperaments-Quiz

so by this, you will be able to understand.Just kiss your girlfriend for that. UNDERSTANDING is one main thing to a lasting relationship. And I definitely agree with you Levertis Steele? soooo true!
