How To Fix A Broken Heart
A Broken Heart Defined
What is a broken heart? Does one truly exist? Yes, it does but not in literal terms. A broken heart is when someone dear and near to you hurts you in an unforgiving way. At least it seems, that way at first. It is a deep pain, almost like a stab in the back, or in this case, a stab in the heart.
Here are a few ways a loved one can break your heart:
dishonesty, lies, deceit
abuse: verbal, emotional, physical, financial, spiritual
careless acts, stealing, cheating

Repairing the Damage
What's done is done. When it's over, it's over. Time cannot be stopped or paused; it's constantly in play. No sense in going backward or remaining in a fragile state of mind. The best thing you can do is let go and let God. Allow God to remove the angst and instill serenity back into your heart. It can be done because His will is done. Holding on to lost loves and past friendships can be damaging to not only your heart but to your health, your finances, your mental/emotional state, your children, your family and your existing friendships. Ask God to help you through this difficult time. Rely on him to heal your heart, not another man/woman.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength Philippians 4:13
Utilize the energy you are wasting in crying and being angry by placing it into something more positive. Regain your focus on what is important in life. As a Christian, that is bringing glory to God. Put your time and effort into bringing pleasure to the Lord. The more you are in a position to be blessed the more you can be blessed and be a blessing. Did you catch that? God uses us to help others, not to help ourselves. But before we can help someone else we must be in good standing with ourselves and with Him.
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:36
Forgiveness: accepting the responsibility of ceasing blame to all parties involved. The power of forgiveness is strong. To have the ability to say "I know you hurt me but I forgive you" is a great thing. It releases so much weight from your shoulders. Forgive those who harmed you. Even go as far, to thank them for being in your life. It sounds strange, but I know it works. Why forgive and be thankful? Because it means you have grown, it shows you are the mature person. It shows God that you have learned a valuable lesson and that your faith is not weary. Many times when people hurt us it is because they are hurting themselves. Something deep inside is bothering them and they have not come to terms with their pain. Many times what we see as bad, God really meant for good. There is a lesson in everything situation, every circumstance. Nothing in life happens just because. If life was easy, we would never learn or appreciate anything.
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34
Appreciate the good, the bad, and the ugly; forgive, be thankful, re-establish focus, let go and let God.
