How to stay Happily Married for years!

Updated on January 1, 2015

What do you think of when you think or marriage, do you smile? Or do you start to feel trapped? Do you feel like running away? Or Is there peace and serenity in your heart. I used to smile to myself and think someday I'll be a princess with the prince, a charming prince! He's handsome, he's rugged, he sophisticated and intelligent, complicated and compassionate and he's all mine. When I decided to marry him it was for who he was not for who I wanted him to be. I had been married two times before to finally realize what I wanted. Nobody is perfect but there is someone perfect for you!

Being happy is taking care of your self and loving yourself. Then you can love others, if you hate yourself how can you really and truly love others? Release the sadness and hurt inside and let love come in. Take some time and look at yourself and who you are.Take some time and look at the relationship you are in, are you happy? Sometimes loving a person means understanding them and realizing, you need to overlook their insecurities or faults. Look at this man or woman who standing in front of you wanting your love. Can you love them the way they are, the person they are right now. Not the person you think they might be. It is right here and now do you love them? If you do, then give it 100 percent and expect the same back. Do not have any doubts in your mind or you will detach yourself subconsciously. A long relationship is like having your best friend for a sleepover for life. Good friends don't play head games, lie or cheat one another. So treat them like a good friend and be a good friend to your mate.

What is Love?

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious of others, loud or proud. It is not dishonorable or self-seeking. Love cannot be easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love is not happy when something bad happens, but rejoices with good news. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.

Under its definition here, if we could only spend our whole lives trying to love one another the world would be a better place. That is my wish.

My Personal Advice

As for woman I can tell you from experience sometimes you have to know when to bring things up and when not to bring things up. Timing is key, in conversations. It does not mean you're hiding anything it just means you wait a few hours for the right time.

One thing I can say about women, " I love you" cannot be heard enough. They also like a man to hold her and give her a big kiss when he gets home from work. Kinda like a western movie.

My husband and I, we always sit down together in the living room and pause the TV. We talk about our day. I ask him what he did today and he asks me what I did, we don't get into a whole lot of moaning and groaning it's mainly just a basic friendly conversation. We love to talk about our future and make plans together. I cook the dinner and he helps with dishes the next day. We always kiss each other goodbye and we we try not to argue and if we do, we try to make up before its too late. If we have an issue about something we talk about it. Sometimes after I have though about it, it's something so small and petty, I decide not to bring it up, like how he puts the dishes away, don't kick a gift horse in the mouth. I don't want to be henpecking the poor guy. You have a clean slate, make it a beautiful story! I hope this helps you. Blessings to you on this adventure!

Apples on Trees Story

“Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don't want to get hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't so good but easy. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality.” So so true....

Drinking and Marriage

WE worry about you! Simple as that, we love you so why wouldn't we worry. We don't want to find out you have been in an accident , we worry if you are alive or dead. Drinking can cause a lot of break ups in marriages. This is for men and women drinkers. Please set a limit on drinks and stick to it. Take Taxi's. Promise not to fight before or after parties and sleep it off.
