How to cuddle

Updated on November 11, 2009

I just want to talk about cuddling (or hugs, but I like the word cuddle). Yes sometimes strange things come to my mind. I think everybody should cuddle every day. So let us cuddle up now.

You just need two things to be able to cuddle; affection and a partner. A cuddly toy like a teddy bear can do the trick too, but that's not the partner I'm thinking about here.

What a cuddle can do for you

The skin is the largest organ we have and it needs a great deal of care and the best care it can get, is a nice cuddle. A cuddle can cover a lot of skin and besides that it is also a form of communication. It can say things you don't have words for or it expresses things you don't need words for.

I think we all experience cuddling in a different way, but most of the time we don't think about how we experience it.

I know how I experience it and I know it wasn't always in the same way. At home, when I was a little girl, cuddling was more something of an obligation. Cuddling my mom on birthdays when the family came over, just to keep up appearances. Cuddling my aunt who I didn't see for a long time and I pretended to like it.

Normally there was no cuddling. Cuddling made me feel uneasy. I did it, but it didn't feel naturally. At least, that's how it felt. I can say I used to be happy when there was no cuddling at all.

I got older, changed, and I accepted the cuddling, didn't resist it. But my first truly cuddle, from someone that really meant it, that one felt scary. (Maybe because I got it from my mother in law) But it still wasn't the cuddle like I experience it today.

A good cuddle, a really true and good one, will last more than a few seconds. I can't tell you how long, because I don't have a clue, but it always seems to short.

With the cuddles I experience lately, I just close my eyes, and feel. Feeling, that's what it's all about. And I feel good, feel relaxed, almost peaceful. In fact, I just feel happy.

Cuddling and relationship

Cuddling is more than a way to keep you warm on a cold day. It's an affectionate physical contact which is good for your health

It's a perfect thing for a man and woman(or woman and woman or man and man) that just want to be close or haven't reached the stage of kissing each other yet. Cuddling can be a great bonding experience for the both.

In relationships cuddling is a way to show the other how much you care an besides that, it's relaxing, comforting and romantic too. Most woman prefer a cuddle to sex. It's simply touching and caressing without any getting any sexual organs involved. Even though it can be a prelude to sex, it is not necessarily.

Sometimes I feel my heart bounce, or I feel his. That's what you feel with a true cuddle. I observe, taste it with my brains, and capture it into my memories, because I want to take it with me forever, wherever I am, wherever I go. And now when I think about it, I just feel it again.

Cuddles.. Strange things aren't they?

It's wondrous what a cuddle can do.

A cuddle can cheer you when you're blue

A cuddle can say, "I love you so,"

Or, "I hate to see you go."

A cuddle is "Welcome back again."

And "Great to see you! Where 'er you been?"

A cuddle can soothe a small child's pain

And bring a rainbow after rain.

The cuddle, there's just no doubt about it --

We scarcely could survive without it!

A cuddle delights and warms and charms;

It must be why God gave us arms

Cuddles are great for fathers and mothers,

Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers;

And chances are your favorite aunts

love them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them, puppies love them,

Heads of states are not above them.

A cuddle can break the language barrier

And make your travel so much merrier.

No need to fret about your store of 'em;

The more you give, the more there are of 'em.

So stretch those arms without delay

And give someone a cuddle today!
