How to get your ex to call you back

Updated on July 13, 2011

Breakups are quite difficult to deal with for many people and it is important to understand that once you have decided to part ways, you must take thins slowly. Every person needs space at one point or another and if you have broken up, it need not be the end of your life. Make sure that you spend some time figuring out what went wrong and how you can set things right.

Reconsider the past

It is important that you spend enough time thinking about what were the mistakes you both made in your relationship before you work on getting your ex to call you back. It does not mean you live in the past, it just involves thinking things through carefully so you don’t repeat those mistakes.

Work on your assets

Every relationship has a phase when its spring. If you want your ex to call you back, you must go back to the happy memories and figure out what they loved most about you. Work on making these aspects more appealing and make yourself irresistible.

Work on your weaknesses

If you want your ex to call you back, you will need to work on the weaknesses that led to your breakup. You may have gained some weight because you let yourself go or paid less attention to how you dress. Now is the time to work out, get a wardrobe change and look smoking hot.

Don’t get in the friend zone

You want your ex to call you back but you don’t want them thinking you are like any other friend they have. It is important for you to stay out of the friend zone. Be available to them but not always and not at all hours.

Take time to drop an email or call

Your ex will call you back, when they don’t hear from you a lot rather than if you keep emailing, texting and calling them every minute asking what went wrong. Play it safe by not being too out of sight, but still making sure that they hear about you from your common friends. After a suitable time, say two weeks, give them a call or send a breezy text message.

Don’t be needy

The wrong thing to do if you want your ex to call you back is to be clingy and desperate. Making them feel like they are in control and that you cannot live without them might seem romantic when you are at the receiving end but it can be a very pathetic situation. Don’t work on the pity angle, work on the sexual appeal and create a mystery for them to unravel.

Get out and party some

If you need to have your ex call you back, sitting by the phone is not the answer. Go out with your common friends to parties and have some fun. Let them know that you are recovering and always have nice things to say about them so they will wish to get back with you sooner.
