Is Hope Alexander A Man Or A Woman?

Updated on November 30, 2009

Ever since significant volumes of people started reading my lingerie for men hubs, the question has repeatedly arisen – is Hope Alexander a man, or a woman? Now sure, I say I'm a woman, but this is the Internets, and you just can't trust anyone on the Internets, even someone who is telling you to wear pantyhose. I've even gotten a few emails in which people (mostly men) ask me if I am a man or a woman. It seems odd that people think I'd be more honest in an email (if I was lying), than to the millions of people who read these articles (okay, 1.8 million and counting, soon to be millions.)

EDIT: *UPDATE* We are now at 2.3 million and counting!

I've refrained from being too vociferous on the issue for a while, mostly because people who challenge your very identity are basically calling you a liar, and that's a teensy bit irritating. Just a teensy bit.

Then again, I put on the moccasins of those asking the question and I say to myself, now, I wouldn't be sure either. So I made a little video in which I talk and say things. It's pretty much the best I can do without stripping down nekkid, and unless I get an offer from Playboy, that ain't gunna be happening.

Also pursuant to my decision to release this ground breaking video is the fact that if I am going to be telling men to be out there about their lingerie wearing, then I feel I should lead the way in transparency and whatnot. It's kind of a relevant factor, especially in a field where there are plenty of guys pretending to be women.

It was tempting to just say “screw those guys, they should believe me because I say it,” but let's face it, that's the argument that God makes for his existence, and it doesn't wash with the Atheist masses at all. I'm not a deity requiring followers to tithe 10 percent of their income just on a feeling in their squishy little hearts, no, I can do better than that.

If this video thing takes off (it could be a fad you know, I don't trust all this newfangled moving picture technology,) I could perhaps do little video episodes in which I answer questions, expound on theories and generally have a totally awesome time. If it doesn't, then I am fine with that too.

This is the place to point people to in the future if you happen to see anyone questioning my gender, give them a clip on the ear and send them over here.

EDIT: Video removed because A) about 300 people saw it already, so there's yer proof. B) None of this is really about me, it's about you. The reader. You make 'me' in your own image. Moving pictures simply confuse the issue.

I believe you, and think the world of you. Besides who cares what people think. People will judge you regardless, of what is true or not.

Hmmm... I'm afraid I fell into the group that simply took you at your word and found your acceptance, insight and understanding for what it was. I guess in these times that makes me a naieve nellie and open to all kinds of scammers. If so, let it be so... I like it that way.

I have to admit to a certain level of voyeuristic curiosity about your appearance... so I did watch the video. It was refreshing to find you absolutely normal in appearance - attractive but not glam, fresh and calm and relaxed... the girl down the block.

I suppose it would be a stretch to say that the world would be impacted by the comfort level of gender switching males, but I do take some measure of solace that there are people like you out there who don't disdain people like me.

      Thanks - Mikki

I went with the 'who cares if you're xx or xy or xxxyyy' thing for a long time too. And honestly, I agree, I don't think it matters what the heck one's gender is.

But for the reasons outlined in the wordiness above, I don't think there is any harm in backing up one's claims with proof, especially when it is relevant to the interests of readers. It's also nice to get rid of this potential monkey before it becomes a real issue.

Who cares what your gender is the main thing is that people out there are being exposed to the fact that men can wear ladies underwear. I believe that you are a woman and love your hubs keep up the good work and break through that two million mark.

Its weird i never didnt question it for a LONG time then one day it hit me... "she could be a he"

when i came to this realization of the possiblility it made my heart sink because i so enjoy thinking of you as a woman. but i must say the doubt was only for a fleating moment. you have a vagina end of story.

but it did surprise me you were british, maybe it is my american ethnocenterism that assumed you were from the US. curse blind nationalism!

Hehe, by jove you're right. This proves nothing! ;) It's time online submissions required a XX chromosome test before posting. That's the only real way to tell.

I didn't tag the video great, I tagged it 'women'... (I wouldn't have tagged it anything at all, but for the medieval mandatory tagging system) I am assuming it picked up on the 'Alexander' in the title and associated it with our favorite Macedonian conqueror.

I'm not from London, but I do have colonial ties, if that helps :)

Tablespoon, teaspoon? Can we get a banana?

Funny, I never doubted you were a woman simply due to how and what you had written - to me it's easy to tell you're sincerely a woman with an open and understanding mind.

One question I would have for you if where are you from, which country do you live in? I'm in London currently, and lucky to have a fiance with similar understanding to your goodself - aren't I lucky! :o)

That may even be better than a "recent picture taken just for" us. Lots of pictures, and sound.

Still, could have got it as a favour from a friend...

Doesn't really make a difference to me, so I'm happy to take you at your word.

Oh, I have to comment on the recommend videos... "Become an Alpha Male", two for Alexander The Great on the first page, with plenty of others on subsequent pages. Did you tag your video with "Great"? ;)

This proves nothing... Maybe you have hired an actress...

      Just kidding...

Nice to be able to assign a face to the writer of these great articles.

Would love to see more videos.

I am one of your fan. I wrote some free comment on your some of hubs. I am not sure if these are approved by you to publish. I remember I wrote abut wearing saree by men.

Now so far your gender is concerned. I am pretty sure you are female. But how come you understood all the secret interest of men to wear panty?
