Is Hope Alexander A Man Or A Woman?

Updated on November 30, 2009

Ever since significant volumes of people started reading my lingerie for men hubs, the question has repeatedly arisen – is Hope Alexander a man, or a woman? Now sure, I say I'm a woman, but this is the Internets, and you just can't trust anyone on the Internets, even someone who is telling you to wear pantyhose. I've even gotten a few emails in which people (mostly men) ask me if I am a man or a woman. It seems odd that people think I'd be more honest in an email (if I was lying), than to the millions of people who read these articles (okay, 1.8 million and counting, soon to be millions.)

EDIT: *UPDATE* We are now at 2.3 million and counting!

I've refrained from being too vociferous on the issue for a while, mostly because people who challenge your very identity are basically calling you a liar, and that's a teensy bit irritating. Just a teensy bit.

Then again, I put on the moccasins of those asking the question and I say to myself, now, I wouldn't be sure either. So I made a little video in which I talk and say things. It's pretty much the best I can do without stripping down nekkid, and unless I get an offer from Playboy, that ain't gunna be happening.

Also pursuant to my decision to release this ground breaking video is the fact that if I am going to be telling men to be out there about their lingerie wearing, then I feel I should lead the way in transparency and whatnot. It's kind of a relevant factor, especially in a field where there are plenty of guys pretending to be women.

It was tempting to just say “screw those guys, they should believe me because I say it,” but let's face it, that's the argument that God makes for his existence, and it doesn't wash with the Atheist masses at all. I'm not a deity requiring followers to tithe 10 percent of their income just on a feeling in their squishy little hearts, no, I can do better than that.

If this video thing takes off (it could be a fad you know, I don't trust all this newfangled moving picture technology,) I could perhaps do little video episodes in which I answer questions, expound on theories and generally have a totally awesome time. If it doesn't, then I am fine with that too.

This is the place to point people to in the future if you happen to see anyone questioning my gender, give them a clip on the ear and send them over here.

EDIT: Video removed because A) about 300 people saw it already, so there's yer proof. B) None of this is really about me, it's about you. The reader. You make 'me' in your own image. Moving pictures simply confuse the issue.
