First dates are always awkward and weird. You are meeting someone and going out with them for the first time so it can get pretty difficult; especially if you really like the person who you are with. You will be trying to impress them in any way you can so it is very important to have a conversation going. Some people are shy and this sometimes affects how they converse with others. Some may think it’s best to keep silent and not say anything silly during the date; however you will be surprise to find out the truth.

Staying silent and not conversing during a date may seem safe however you will only end up looking boring and distant. The person who you are with will think that you are maybe not interested in them while the truth is, you may really like him/her. Don’t let a lack of talking affect your dating life anymore. Wouldn’t you like to be able to have a nice conversation with your date and let them see what a great person you really are?

Wine And Dine

Drinking a glass of wine is a great way to relax your mind and keeps a conversation flowing. You do not and should not get drunk; you will end up looking like a fool when the date is over and you may even ruin your chances of landing a second date. To get past your nerves just drink a glass of wine, it will make you feel more relax and comfortable.

Choosing a great location to dine is also a good idea. A comfortable setting like a nice restaurant filled with candles and nice soft music is a great first date conversation starter. Adding a glass of wine will help you relax even more. Candles, music, wine and a great date; what a recipe for success!

Question And More Questions

One of the best ways to keeping both you and your date conversing is by asking questions. Questions will make your date fell like you are interested in him/her; you will also get to know them better and see if you are compatible with each other. Ask questions such where they work, what are their hobbies, what do they like to do to relax, etc. Asking questions will make sure that there aren’t any of those long awkward pauses that happen during first dates. You may even get ideas as to what that person enjoys, this information may even help you plan a great second date that you both will enjoy.

When asking questions be sure to look interested in what the person is saying. Don’t look bored, or give gestures such as yawing or looking away; it’s rude and your date will surely not appreciate it. A good tip when asking questions is to only ask questions that you may in turn feel comfortable to answer about yourself. Chances are you may be answering the same question after you have asked it. Use this as an advantage and ask questions first. By asking first you will be steering the conversation in the direction you want it to go. Be smart and lead the talk.

When you are on your next date all you have to remember is Wine and Question. Drinking Wine and asking questions will help you in always having something to talk about. Don’t lose another date by staying silent. Keep these two tips at hand and you are sure to keep the conversation flowing.
