Interesting Dremas. Feelings are too intense, adherence of the prescribed words is sure to make a good marriage and prove to be an extension of a meaningful life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

AliciaC - Certainly I can't command anyone, so the title is somewhat of a play on some other commandments that came from a much higher authority. But I think prospective couples might do well to agree on these 10 items before they marry, and perhaps more marriages would endure.

      Thanks for commenting.

This is beautiful. My husband and I come from very different backgrounds and parts of the country but have the same values. We just got there from different paths. I like that you made that #1. He is also the funniest person I know and can even make people laugh in sad or frustrating moments. Voted up and more, plus sharing. Congratulations on a happy and long-lasting marriage.

FlourishAnyway - How you got together is not at all as important as what you do to stay together, and I am sure you two agree. That's no joke.

CrisSp - There are few guarantees in life, but these suggestions improve the odds. I have a book coming out at the end of the year that can further improve the odds for a lasting marriage. Congratulations to you both on 27 successful years of marriage. Wishing you joy, Demas

peachpurple - Couples that regularly quarrel together seldom stay together. Rather they need to learn how to listen and roll their tongues 10 times before they speak.
