More Than A Myth, Less Then A Fairy Tale

Updated on July 29, 2017

For all who are homely and unloved.

More Than A Myth, Less Then A Fairy Tale.

Beauty takes a seat
far too often
denying many girls
in her chosen field.

Failing to
dance across
their features
as they mature
deciding rather
to sit and observe.

Finding some kind
of twisted delight
in just how badly she
is desired by those
who don't have her.

For beauty herself
also has issues with ego
who lives in a castle,
just over the hill.

There against
the vast bulwark
of ego's holdings
stand the unpicked.

All of the
wallflowers
of the world
swaying to music
that the more
lovely frolic too.

Dandelions in
a rose garden,
longing for beauty
to grace them
with love's song.

Till they eventually
become just the seeds
of wishes that were
never granted

severed from
the pursed lips of some
handsome dreamer.

Even beauty can share tragedy

Your wallflower poems make me so sad. There should be someone for everyone who wants someone. Not that everyone who incarnates is looking for someone. Perhaps lack of beauty is a sign of higher intentions?
