Questions To Ask To Get To Know Someone Better

Updated on March 16, 2015

If you are going out on a date with someone who you do not know very well, you may feel as if you want to learn more about that person. One good way to learn more about a person is to ask them questions on a variety of subjects. It doesn't necessarily have to be a first date, it could be your second or third date, but asking questions will show that you are interested in the other person. Here are some questions you can ask your date to keep the conversation flowing and learn more about them.

Thank you for your great comment, Dashingscorpio! I totally agree, which is why I (hopefully) did not include any questions that may cause someone to feel uncomfortable or upset on a date. I agree that those questions you posted are not good first date questions.

Excellent hub! Vote up and useful!

Too often people forget that the first date is really about building rapport and ascertaining if there is any chemistry and commonality between them.

Instead many people charge in with hard hitting questions such as ; Why are you still single? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Have you ever cheated on anybody or had someone cheat on you? What would your ex say about you? Why did your last relationship end? How long did it last?

These are hardly first date questions!

Rehashing failed relationships is not going to put most people in a "great mood". Those answers really don't matter because if you don't enjoy each other's company odds are there won't be a second date! :)

Great questions for those early, awkward dates when you are getting to know each other.

      Thanks for writing.
