Silence, it's not always golden.

Updated on March 8, 2015

Silence is Golden?

Silence is Golden
They say

I disagree
most heartily.

Like a rapier
to the fencer

Silence is a weapon
cutting deeply.

Silence is a weapon,
that allows no sharing.

Silence is a weapon,
that allows no support.

Silence leaves many questions.

Silence is a weapon,
that is calculating.

Silence is a weapon,
that is intended to cut.

Silence is a weapon,
that allows no love.

Silence is a weapon,
that only leaves questions.

Silence is a weapon,
that wants to negate memories.

Silence can be cruel.

Silence is a weapon,
that is uncompromising.

Silence is a weapon,
that can be incredibly cruel.

Silence is a weapon,
wielded by some with ease.

Silence is a weapon,
merciless in its intention.

Silence is a weapon,
allowing no closure.

It is an uncommonly sad ending
to love or friendship.

No, silence is not golden,
It is harsh and brutal.

It is beneath someone
who has a good soul.

You claim you are not a writer, but you've written some very profound concepts here, and in a very skillful fashion. Great hub!

I very much agree with Mel, I was just reading your profile and that's exactly what you said, in which I disagree. You are a writer and a good one.

You can absolutely pen your thoughts eloquently for readers to enjoy.

      Cheers!

Thank you so much for your kind words, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I just try to write from my heart. The silence has left a wound that has remained open for a very long time. I'd like to just say screw it but there's too much love in the way. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.

I really liked this poem. I was a firm believer in silence is golden. I interact so much in my job, that when at home I prefer to be alone and appreciate the silence. However, my family take it as anti-social. I see your point is this poem. Thank you
