Be Happy With Yourself

Have you ever heard the expression, if Momma ain't happy then nobody is happy? This is so true. Don't sit around moping over the way things were or how life should be. Be happy with what you have and how life will be. I know it's tough knowing you have to cook, clean, do laundry, take care of kids and work, but think about it, didn't you do all of that before the divorce? I know I did. Now at least you have one less "adult kid" to clean up after.

Happy as a Clam

I love the expression, happy as a clam. I often use it in reference to my feelings. One day I thought about it and started wondering why a clam would be happy so I researched. I discovered that the original expression was, happy as a clam in the mud at high tide. You see, during high tide a clam can bury itself in the mud or sand and can't be dug up. This is where it feels safe and thus making it a happy creature. That is how I feel. I may be a lowly bottom dweller but I know I will survive and can not be destroyed. When you feel like you're going to drown in life's everyday stresses, take a breath, close your eyes and imagine that you are that clam buried beneath the mud as the waves roll by. You are safe and by the time the water calms down, the problems of today will not seem as over bearing.

Laughter is Good Medicine

Laugh often. Find humor around you. It is a medical fact that laughter is good for the body. It relieves stress, increases blood flow and relaxes tense muscles making you a happier, healthier person. Oh wait, so does sex. So if you can't laugh or find humor then have sex. Or better yet, have sex with a humorous person or have humorous sex with preferably a person. Either way. Be happy and be healthy.
