THOUGHTS FROM MY PAPERBACK WORLD....
ALMOST WINTER TIME...by b. Malin
ME, THEN... b. Malin
This Hub Piece I dedicate to the younger me...
The snow is coming down.
I am surrounded by it's whiteness...
It is purity and grace as if falls enveloping everything in sight.
Blinding me with its beauty and illusion.
My body feels serene, and my mind is tranquil, as I sit "isolated" from the world.
In My home in the country, mesmerized by it all.
Where the trees outnumber the people...and always will.
I do not wish to venture out into the swirling white wonder.
No thank you. Not me.
This is only November...but there will be so much more...so much more.
My living room "picture window" gives a fine view.
Beyond that, the cold dampness is there to remind me that "Spring" is many months away.
I toss another log on the fire, as the cat moves closer and purrs her thanks to me.
I lay down beside her, she is white like the snow.
Her purring becomes louder as she moves closer to me. I bend my head to meet hers, and she licks my nose.
We silently stare into each others eyes... I scoop her up to my chest, as she nestles her warmth into me, she is content. Our hearts beating together, as she closes her eyes...she is happy.
My eyes remain open as I stare out the picture window watching the scene that "Mother Nature" has painted for me...
And silently wish, I were a BEAR!
