Tale of A Silent Man

Updated on January 25, 2012

I am writing this hub about someone who is very cool, silent and dedicated. He has grown up in a village in very introvert and simple family. They were three siblings. And among three of them he was the most loving, hardworking, studious and intellectual. He use to go with his grandmother to Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) every morning and use to do prayers. His faith in god in early age was developed. He was thus all time busy with his holy books but later on his interest decline from spiritual life to modern life.

But then suddenly one day his life took a turn as family moved from village to a big city. Many hardship that family faced, including financial were also known to him as he was elder child in the family. Making big house in city was not easy task for them. On few occasions, they were refused any help by even close relations. His mother was refused for a very small figure by her own brother, which almost shooked the heart of everyone in family. But as time pass away slowly leaving footprints in mind. It always hurted the boy somewhere very deep, but as he was from a family where as a kid he has no right to interfere he suppressed himself. He remained silent keeping all in heart.

Moving from village to city school made studies slightly hard. He was doing his best to cope up with his studies. One day a teacher commented that he will not be able to do anything in life. He listened with heavy heart but with complete silence.

He was limited to his family and books but along with that he was turning naughty with his growing age. But he always knew his limits and always acted smart everywhere. As he use to plan for his friends but being at the back end. He was never part of any fights or conflicts etc as he was far away from such life. But along with it he was very good writer and planner as he had sharp mind.

Life kept on running at its own pace but he had everything in mind, He worked very hard and was stepping day by day close to his goal of life. Then one day he fell in love with his class-mate, but that was unsaid Love where he could not even dare to say that he love her, and one day she left without knowing that he love her. He was but strong willed as he kept her in her memories but didn’t let that feelings affect his goal. This time again, he remained silent.

Life moved slowly and he got married with family’s choice. He was not even earning the time he got married. With his hard work and dedication he became, Lawyer and the teacher who once quoted hurting words to him was also working as lawyer in same court. Now both were at same level in professional life. Now he answered his teacher very silently that he did it and achieved his target.

Professional as well personal life was moving in normal way but still he was some where alone and silent. Many situations really need someone very close and supportive. One day he got someone his soul was searching for. He dared to hold hand, forgetting the world, society, relations and decided this time not to be silent as he can’t afford to lose his LOVE for which he waited years with silence. He is in love with someone and their relation made that silent man, more daring, competent, and more capable person to face life. He is now a completely changed personality. Holding hand in hand, they are leading a successful life. He is ready to face life, with the support of his love. Silent man is not that silent now.

Your story teaches that one must not underestimate anyone. Also that one can improve and change for the better if one desires.

      Interesting and enjoyable.

      Bhanu ji,

Well written. I got so indulge in reading this encouraging story. As per my opinion, whilst we move to a different place, we face a different environment, new people, new challenges and new opportunities. There is an old adage which says, "To be silent is more important than to be an inexhaustible chatterbox, because often people need a patient heart that listens, not a brilliant mind that speaks." But, to be silent to that extent is not wise. I like at the end when the man realizes his weakness and turns it into his strength. Wonderful story!
