The 10 Minute Romantic Dinner
Try and find a "Romantic" Setting
Keeping Romance Alive
The ten minute romantic dinner.
First off let me tell you this is possible, I have done it many times and even did it in speech class in less than ten minutes in front of a class of students.
You want to impress your date and make it something special; here is how to do it. This works, in the backyard, next to the rose garden at the local park, along a stream, in the middle of a football field, really anywhere you imagination can take you.
What will you need?
1. Folding Table
2. 2 Folding Chairs
3. Table cloth
4. 4 Napkins, I would suggest cloth ones they are nicer.
5. 2 plates
6. 2 wine glasses
7. 2 forks
8. 2 spoons
9. 2 knives
11. Something to Eat and Drink
12. An Ipod or Radio with speakers
First off you can do this before the arrival of your date and have more time, or you can surprise them and set it up in front of them. I suggest setting it up in front of them, it will make them feel spoiled.
Find a flat level area, preferred on solid ground or walk path. Table and chair legs will sink into the ground on grass or soft sand. Set up the table and the chairs, one on each side of the table. Cover with the table cloth, Place the plate in front of the table centered between the right and Fold the Napkins and set them on each side of the plate, the one on the left will be to cover the lap the one on the right will have the silverware placed, although this is not the way a fine dinner setting is placed, it is an acceptable alteration due to the theme of surprised meal.
Place the glasses to the right above the silverware. Center the Centerpiece in the middle, I would suggest a single rose in a vase, which you can give as a gift after the meal is done. If an evening meal, use candles and place a rose lying across the plate of your date to symbolize where she (he) will be sitting.
Unless you enjoy cooking and transporting food, I would suggest take out from a local ethnic restaurant. A pizza also can do just fine, and I have had them delivered to a park which adds a bit of humor to the event.
Of course the iPod / Stereo will provide the mood music, and should be romantic in nature, my favorite is Chicago’s Greatest Hits 1982-1989.
Remember most parks do not allow alcoholic drinks and sparkling sider / juice / or soda should be used instead.
This takes 10 minutes to set up, and I guarantee it will leave a lasting impression on the person you are trying to impress. Have fun with it.
