The Ambiguous Life
The Ambiguous Life
She slowly walks in time and place
Recognizing not one face
The world became an open void
Love absent now and unemployed
How did things get to be this way
Those dreaded words she chose to say
Now life is just an empty word
And death is something more obscure
The ones she loved passed long ago
To preserve her soul she let love go
To touch, to feel, to hold one close
Three things she now misses most
Immortality was her choice to make
The sound of it to her seemed great
So she traded her life for another’s
So they could join departed brothers
Each day she offers this life infernal
But no one wants to live eternal
While others die or drown at sea
She dreams of death to set her free
She loved and laughed a felt life’s passion
Then watched her love end with their passing
She tried suicide a time or two
Then felt the pain it put her through
If by chance you cross her path
Harken not the words she’ll cast
Or you’ll exchange your life for hers
And become part of an immortal world©
