The 50th Anniversary Celebration

This past summer we celebrated the family's parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary. This short video was filmed in eight millimeter way back on August 13, 1961--the day the "iron curtain" went up.

My parents have maintained an iron curtain around their marriage and still love one another more than they did the day of their wedding. I hope you enjoy the asides and accompanying music which they walked down the aisle together as it played. It's Handel's Largo.

Bon Chance that you should stay married for fifty years--I certainly can't imagine the thought--I'd have to remarry and stay alive till well past one hundred.

Homemade Buns for the 50th Celebration

Mom makes the best homemade buns you'll ever taste...mmm, fresh out of the oven with butter.

The After Party

Well, wrap me in a yellow ribbon and tie me to a tree--fifty years is nothing--we're shooting for a hundred and three.

Spawn of Victoria and Lawrence...three boys...two girls.

Starting in 1962, then again in 1965 and 1966...the boys arrived first...then in 1970...at last a girl...finally in 1981...a Mona Lisa of hysteria.

Mom's Girlfriends from afar.

These lovely ladies use to lose a lot of weight together--the certificate in hand proves it. They loved their mid-life attempts at Weight Watchers--it's kept them smiling--just look at those faces.
