Thriving Every Day

Updated on March 23, 2011

Make a choice

This is God gift for us. To thrive, not survive.

Surviving  is a natural process of remaining alive, a constant fight, and overcoming adversity all the time. “If it isn’t one thing it’s the other” you feel like you can’t catch a break, you get a daily life beat down.

Thriving is a state of  booming, very lively, prosperous, and profitable, making steady progress towards realizing your dreams despite of the circumstances.

There is always two choices before each of us which do you want? What stopping you from having it?

Transformation

When we are born again we undergo a transformation of our mind, (Romans12:2) "be not conform to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…") Transformation like everything else is a process and it depends on each individual as to the speed of the process in order to move from one level to the next in God.

It takes faith and a relationship with God to move from surviving to thriving, you start out with small faith and every time your faith level increases you goes a bit higher moving away from just surviving and closer to thriving, as your faith grows so does your relationship with God. Picture yourself on a teeter-totter, this ride takes two people for it to move, balance and increase, this ride involves you and God. where you go up and down, you start off slow gaining momentum as you go, then you begin to get a rhythm going to where you are able to balance well until you reach the full height of the teeter-totter, at that level you have conquer your fears and master the teeter-totter to where you can maintain a height and enjoy the ride. Well that’s what faith is like, just like being on a teeter-totter, some people never leave the ground, some half way up, most of us teeter on the edge between surviving and thriving, but there are some that make it all the way up and over.

the sky is the limit when you thrive

Thriving in God

Being a survivor means that you are relying on your ability in the natural to make ends meet, you are still under man’s law. You are saved by grace but you are still operating under the law. The world has become more chaotic and competitive and we are constantly pressured to accomplish more and more making it increasingly more difficult to find pleasure in our life.

Surviving is hard, stressful, tedious, and unfulfilling because its labor intensive, you alone carry the weight so when you do make it, it’s hard to enjoy because you don’t have the time nor the energy and your mind is now focus one way, and that’s on anything that will continually help you to make the money even to the exclusion of yourself and family and that’s sad.

Thriving is were we are operating fully under God’s grace and enjoying life to the fullest, as we take God’s words and promises and apply it daily to our lives we will see the result, which is prosperity in every area of our life. When we rely on God and our trust is in Him and Him alone, we begin to recognize Him as being in control and that He is our Provider, all sufficiency, and the only source of our life.

We know that God is a God of innumerable wealth and His desire for us is to partake of His wealth and get our inheritance so we can thrive on this earth. God doesn’t want us to live with a "barely-get-by" attitude or mentality. He has given us His word and guidelines as to how to live an abundant flouring, blessed, and overflowing life. (John 10:10)

In order to thrive in God you have to have a relationship with Him. Is your relationship with God a dynamic and growing one, or is your faith dry and bland? A relationship with God is never meant to be mundane or boring.

God’s Promises

We have to be so ever careful not to develop a survival mentality because it will keep us from growing and releasing our faith. When things get difficult it is easy for us to slip back into survival mode. When things are tough it's when we are most tempted to settle where we are and be happy with just “breaking even.” As God’s children we are not supposed to just break-even, we are supposed to break through to new and higher levels in Christ, our Lord. We are supposed to believe for more of God’s promises, favor, increase, and promotion no matter what life circumstances are around us. No matter how difficult things are just grab hold of God’s promises and declare that you are rising higher as you continue to expect His favor and increase. It is then you will see His hands of blessings in your life and you will begin to thrive and live in victory all the days of your life.

God’s promises are sure (2Corth. 1:20). “For the promises of God in Him is YES, and Amen.” God’s promises are guaranteed, in Him, there are no butt’s or maybe’s, He gave His promises and with each one He placed a very strong emphasis on His assurances “I will….”

In order to receive you have to know His promises, believe His promise, claim His promise, and wait on God to fulfill His promises in His timing. Man will let you down but God will lift you up, your circumstances might tear you apart but God will restore you mightier than before if you claim that which is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2) God is faithful.

God promises to take care of us in every situation, He said He’ll provide all our needs. He’ll never leave us nor forsake us, He’ll deliver us from all our afflictions (Psalms 34:19). He said he will not fail us; He will heal us, strengthen us, protect us, and promote us. He also said if you call upon Him he will answer us and show us great and mighty things we have not known or imagined (Jeremiah 33:1&32:27.

If you search the bible you’ll see that there are specific promises for specific needs that He had done and given to people in the bible.

It’s time to rise up and thrive in God’s promises, rejoice for today is the day that the Lord has made and all things are available for you today; not tomorrow - TODAY is your day of blessings, He tells us not to worry about tomorrow it doesn’t belong to us and it will take care of itself, so focus on today.
